Paul's Boutique
Beastie BoysIf there was an instrumental version of this album, I'd probably love it. It looks like you can find some of the instrumentals on Youtube. They're great. The Dust Brothers do not disappoint.

I'd heard a bunch of these singles before, turns out they're all like five minutes longer than I was used to hearing. The back half of this album is absolutely insane. What a gem!
Never heard of this band, and this was great! Halfway through the album, brace for a "oh, the version I know (and kind of hate) was a COVER?!"
Turns out I recognized more tracks on this than I thought. Hard one for me to be objective about.

I mean literally one of the most important albums of my life. There's no functional way to be objective about this. Good album. Would obsess over again. A+
What a weird album. The tracks keep ALMOST being jams but then wander off in some other directions. Really good stuff!
Sorry Neil, I tried. I like Neil a lot more than I like Neil's music. There are some absolutely priceless songs in here but then there's... the rest of the album. Just not my thing.
Very much not my thing, but made for nice background music while I worked.
This was fun.
I only knew this guy from collaborations with other artists. I was happy to have a chance to actually listen to an album, and this did not disappoint!
90s masterpiece that probably didn't age very well but i'm completely incapable of judging it with anything approaching objectivity. Halcyon still rules.
Not really my thing, but was fun to listen to. Sounds like the kind of music that gets sampled in other songs. :)
I like yacht rock but this is too yacht rock for me.
Again, not for me, but was nice to listen to.
Sad Beck is my least favorite Beck, but it's still pretty good.
A real gem. Upset it took me this long to listen to it.
Not for me, but I can hear why it's good.
Extremely not my thing. Only made it like two tracks.
Never had the chance to listen to Deerhunter. This is... really good!
Fantastic album. Imagine my surprise when I noticed it was a double!
Weird album. I might like it if given more time.
Great singles, just generally not my thing though. Sorry Missy!
THAT WHOLE TIME, I WAS ON THE FIRST TRACK?!
Not really a singer/songwriter fan (it takes me like 10 listens to most music before I start paying any attention to the lyrics), but man, Paul Simon can write a tune.
Okay what the hell.
only made it a track and a half. I have no idea if this woman is talented or not because all i can hear is "THE EIGHTIES" screaming at me with every single instrument and reverb slider. No thank you.
Literally impossible for me to be objective about this one, due to my fatboy slim tattoo and all. I haven't listened to this album in a hot minute though. I know it's very loopy and very repetitive. It's still a JAM. Love Island + Acid 8000 is one hell of a finale.
This was really great! Never heard of this band before!
I've heard this album a million times and love it, but I just discovered the remix from about a decade ago, and I'm hearing drums and things that I've never noticed in the original before. Sounds amazing.
I don't get Prince. I don't get why he's such a huge deal. Glad for people who get it, but this is EXTREMELY not for me.

Fantastic. I really enjoy both 10 min+ tracks.

This was... pretty decent for 80s synth pop that i'd never heard of.
I do not care for this. However, it was very different than what I was expecting. Still not my thing. Sorry John.
I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I was going to. It's going to require some more listens, but I'll definitely be back!
This was great! Way outside the stuff I normally listen to, and I listened to it twice back to back. Killer.
Wavers in and out of not really being my thing.
I only knew Dizzee from that one Basement Jaxx song, so this was a real treat!
I don't think I'm in the right headspace for this band. I may have to circle back.
With this weird of a name, I was really hoping to like this album. Oh well.
This was a fun listen.

I don't know what I was expecting but this album is insane. Like, made by people I'm pretty sure are actually insane. Also... kind of a jam?
Not my thing, but also better and more fun than I was expecting.
