Tracks: Tomorrow comes today Clint Eastwood 19-2000 Seems like a slow burner, the chill vibes flow through but some of the grooves definitely haven’t aged well, like an early 2000s time capsule. Love the fusion of many different styles, just doesn’t grab my attention with any songs except the bops. Could grow with more listens though!
Seemed like they were a trend setter, but kinda just sounded like Brit pop. Not bad! Not great either!
I actually really liked this album, some country/blues mixed with brass and rock super well. Would never guess it’s a British rock group at all. It sounds like I’m listening to a road-trip through the countryside, while drinking, and stopping at small towns to get wasted. Ups, downs, and in-betweens.
Definitely way ahead of its time! But man, you can sing about something other than love.
Sounds like a lot of other British pop rock out of that time, nothing really caught my attention or made me want to relisten.
I went into this with high hopes and listened 5 times because I’ve known about this album’s reputation for being raw and unforgiving but even still I was taken aback. This album influenced an ENTIRE generation of people to do whatever the fuck they wanted with music and it’s over my head. It is extremely raw, I actually like the production because of how unapologetic it is. But musically it’s a hard listen. Where is my mind is a 10/10 track and feels like a surreal oasis in an otherwise desert of unfinished tracks. It sounds like many openers I’ve seen live that just aren’t ready yet, but maybe that’s the charm?
Great voice, awesome vibes. I feel like I need a Manhattan and a cigar to fully enjoy this album. But still, a little repetitive and probably won’t revisit often or at all.
Really liked the instrumental parts and the atmosphere on this album.
Liked it, intense but thrashing. Would love to learn the lyrics, insane that it came out so early.
I like this album. Neil’s lyrics are simple but still colorful and thoughtful. Production feels really tight but also has a live atmosphere, love the progression of distortion as the album progresses ending with the massive blown out crescendo. Would be an awesome one to have on vinyl for me and will definitely revisit. Thrasher is a hit but some of the tracks don’t land like welfare mothers and sedan delivery, so prob a 4/5.
This album is okay, very mellow but I appreciate his lyrics. I wish more songs didn’t have the layered vocals, not a huge fan of that sound. But it sounds like so many of the acoustic indie artists that I’ve listened to over the years so it’s easy to see the influence he’s had.
Fun album! Love the variety and pacing. Will definitely check out more yeah yeah yeahs
I don’t hate it and I don’t do enough drugs to love it. One of the most surprising albums to grow on me. Second listen and something clicked, it feels like the fringe of society vocalized. Upsetting, psychotic, anxiety inducing and angry. It’s a parody of music and society. Fuck it.
This little piggy needs therapy 🐽
Great rock energy on this album but if you played a song I couldn’t tell you if it was on this album or not.
Awesome rock, awesome variety, awesome messages!
Rush is good at sounding like Rush. Track 1 doesn’t sound like Rush and it’s pretty awesome. The rest of the album is weak though.
I usually finish albums even if I don’t like them. I did not finish this one.
First song is an absolute banger, but the rest of the album fails to match that energy. I will probably go back and check it out without playing the first track again.
A lot more folk than Rust Never Sleeps, didn’t catch my attention but was pretty unmemorable.
Hella bangers, fun album
Some fun songs and great vibes on this album. I liked this more than I thought I would!
Very eccentric, emotional, and dreamy, great production but second half isn’t as strong as the first. Still better than Elvis Costello.
Not bad, didn’t catch my attention too much though.
Aged like a fine deez nuts joke 🍷
Would like to revisit, cool vibe
Fun, the transitions are actually entertaining! Love the hard hitting sound without chugging
I’ve got to revisit this one, a lot of it I’m not super interested in. But the Icelandic songs are quite good imo, the English ones just seem quirky though
Liked this more than sugar cubes but her voice still doesn’t do it for me
Good vibes but nothing too memorable
Surprisingly fun album, I love the mix of genres
I dig it. Might have to pick this one up!
I enjoyed this one! I’ll have to give it another listen but it sounds like a less developed Godspeed you! Black Emperor, pretty great!
Fun album! I like the variety and the album as a whole, some parts were pretty unmemorable though
Pretty good, but parts were very busy and muddled
They’ve got some sick grooves, a bit drawn out and aged for me though. The conjuring is prob my favorite, the bridge is groovy
I love the talking heads singles but this album didn’t do anything for me. Just felt messy
Not my favorite album, but some good songs. Definitely has some sounds that are ahead of its time!
I really like this album, but it is curated almost to a fault. I feels like a theater performance, I’d have to listen more to get it I think. In The Backseat is an incredibly track though.
