Jane WeaverI don't think this one is super noteworthy or stands out to me. It's not bad but it won't leave a lasting impression on me. it seems like a strange inclusion on this list.

This album reminds me of high school and it being the new band on the scene. I really like the lofi sound quality of his voice and the guitars. I listened to it in 2 days so i can't remember the first part of the album that much but the whole album was very familiar. Sinister kid does sound sinister, it gave me villan vibes. Maybe my favorite song from this album is too afraid to love you.
Just looking at the track listing this is already a 5 out of 5. This album was great, so many hits. It's very nostalgic and can make you feel good and sad. I knew so many of the words in these songs. I think my favorite songs on this album are so far away, you've got a friend, and its too late. Bops, reminds me of childhood
I can't get away from Sting, he's everywhere. My favorite song from this album is probably every breath you take but I think I also enjoyed o my god. Sting has such a wide vocal range. I like the guitar riffs.
It's an easy listen, listen to it while doing other things. I can't really say what song is my favorite since they all kind of blend together but they are jamming for sure.
I wonder where this ranks on the overall list of albums and how this could get on the list. I'm wondering if there will be other scores on this list. It's fine to listen to but I might be bored. I also don't know much about this band. I think my favorite song from this right now is highschool lover. I liked dead bodies too.
All bangers so far, no woman no cry, lively up yourself, rebel music. It's reggae night at frog and peach. Fun album, I think all songs are easy to listen to.
dude dave navarro is in this band. ink master. i did not know this. this positively sways this review. i read that the first halfo od the album is rock and the second half is more subdued. I liked the last song the most.
The elvis movie came out recently and learning more about elvis and how much of a creep he was makes it hard to separate the art from the artist. now that the narrative of elvis and his actions/life are more prevalent in pop culture, i am just jaded in regards to him and his music and don't necessarily like him. that being said, I'll try to be as objective as I can in listening. lol I guess this is his first album so it holds an important place in music history. setting the blueprint for the music to come. one sided love affair is low key annoying, the way he's singing. hearing him sing higher is weird. blue moon is the song from this. overall good album, easy to listen to mostly
First song is funky. I think I'm familiar with the song Babylon, I've heard it on the radio before. Has a certain familiarity to it, I've probably heard this somewhere as a kid, I've definitely shazamed this from the radio. I do think the singles released from this album are probably the best songs. Slow chill album, I liked please forgive me, babylon, and this years love.
I've never heard of this group before but I like their name. oh i just went on wikipedia and found out that the lead singers last name is goldfrapp. that's pretty dope. I like her make up on the album cover. I think i like pilots. slow not super upbeat, very cinematic. it's giving james bond. i hate oompah radar. it's a 2
guitar hero songs represent. do it again. this song is hard to play on guitar hero, i don't think i've beat it on expert. what genre are they? i also feel like i've gotten a couple of albums from the 70's so far. dude i actually already love the song dirty work and i didn't know it was them. nice. I like reelin in the years. This was a good album I liked it more than I thought I would. unclear on what this bands reputation is generally but I enjoyed it. 4
I like the guitar on the first song. I'm not as familiar with the white stripes other than their popular songs. I had no idea they were a duo. reading up on their history it's really interesting their dynamic and they way they presented themselves as a group. I do enjoy the guitar on this album in it's entirety. we are gonna be friends is the song for me from this album.
Starts so funky, roundabout is fun. I feel like i always tend to like the first track of an album. it sets the tone for the rest. they are jamming. oh these are long songs. they're funky but there isn't a thread that connects them. it's interesting but i don't think i'll revisit.
I like stand, sing a simple song and of course everyday people. it's feel good music.
me and the beastie boys have not gotten along in the past because they just annoy me. maybe i just hate no sleep till brooklyn, just the yelling annoys me. it's been okay so far, tolerable. maybe it's their high pitched voices, it's whiny. their use of samples and different sounds is interesting. i do like how playful they are and have fun with the tracks. i didn't hate it as much as i thought i would. 3
I'm excited for this one. I already love harvest moon so much it's one of my favorite songs. I like the album artwork, the typography is cool and pretty. man needs a maid gets so grandiose, starting slow and chill and getting so cinematic in the end. I like heart of gold, I've definitely heard it before and enjoyed it. I know old man as well. some of the songs feel like movie scores. it's a pretty calm album for the most part, nice guitar and nice voice.
I like new order. I like their album artwork for this. This is a nice listen so far, I like the vibe of love less. Feels very nostalgic, like this could be playing over my memories. overall this was good, love less is my favorite one from this, I got distracted with work so I wasn't as in depth listening but I already knew I enjoyed new order. I'll listen to the singles again since they didn't leave an impression on me. This is their dance album.
No clue what style this album was going to be. It's an instrumental album I believe. oh wait they started singing really softly. they're kinda weird. I don't think this is for me.
I think this is the first country album I've gotten, let's see how it goes. maybe older country is better than new country. better than I expected and I can respect it. Last song is a little too much for me but.
I'm excited for this one. Already a fan of the kinks. Their sound is so warm and nostalgic and happy. I love their sound, I love the guitar and the melodies.
This was better than I expected, I'm pleasantly surprised that I could enjoy this album as much as I did. Going into this I already liked the song hyperballad from her other stuff but that was the extent of my bjork knowledge. It felt very magical and fairylike and very unique.
it's a 5. I love this album so much. This is the first album I've gotten where I probably know all the songs and a lot of the words. The fact that this is their first album and it's so perfect already is really incredible. Their sound is so nostalgic and lo fi and melodic. I love how apathetic Julian's voice is. Perfect for listening to in the car. My favs are someday, hard to explain, soma and is this it. it's main character music for a film.
this makes me feel sleepy in a good way. I enjoy listening to jazz and I don't often do it. the music is good, the band is killing it. I read that this was intended to feel as if you were in a jazz club, which I think they nailed the vibe. The spoken word in the intros can be tiring but i guess it adds to the jazz club atmosphere. I don't think I'll finish this album but I get the gist.
of course we're familiar with this album. I think it was overplayed and that usually dampers my association with an album/songs. I don't think this is her best album but i do think it's better than her newest one. 19 & 21 still are the top. i was also listening to adele in high school or middle school? before she blew up so 19 & 21 hold a special place. this shouldn't have won over lemonade.
I like this album. I already knew just like honey and love it. their sound is so cool and comforting and familiar. I like the noise and the feedback, it feels like main character music, i can see it in so many films. i like darklands, april skies. it just feels like you should be driving down pch at sunset with the windows down or at a party with your friends having drinks. I will definitely relisten and revisit. i want to give this a 5 so i will. :)
This is an album where I know most of the songs. It reminds me of listening to this in high school. I love don't panic. shiver - guitar hero representation. sparks <3 it's so calming and relaxing. it's hard not to enjoy this album. also this is their debut album. very very good debut album. I eel like that should always be noted in these reviews, to have a debut album on this list I think is important. i forgot about everything's not lost, i am realizing a lot of these songs got me through some tough times in high school. this is nice to revisit.
I don't think this one is super noteworthy or stands out to me. It's not bad but it won't leave a lasting impression on me. it seems like a strange inclusion on this list.
look im a steely dan fan. i wish i had given can't buy a thrill a 5 because it deserves it. i've heard this first song before and i don't like it haha. everything after that song is enjoyable. they're just easy to listen to and fun. i do think cant buy a thrill is a better album. i like pearl of the quarter.
I like punk and it's cool to hear their first album and hear their sound. the songs are all really similar and i can't understand what they are saying but it's still fun to bop your head to. the songs all kind of blend together and the beats are similar but i still like it. blitzkrieg bop is the stand out because it's slightly different than the other songs, but if you've heard one you've heard them all.
80s hip hop, debut album. I have def never listened to a rn dmc album before in it's entirety. i like the beats and the instrumentals of the songs. i'm wondering if they influenced the beastie boys or if the beastie boys influenced them. This is more tolerable to me than the beastie boys i think. it's repetitive but not bad. i like the guitars and drums used in these rap songs. something we don't hear enough of in current hip hop.
This is the 2nd sly and the family stone album that has come up for me. It's super funky and great to listen to. I really enjoyed it. My favorite tracks were family affair and luv n haight. They rule this genre of funk.
This is good. I really like whispering pines. it's a cool vibe, folk rock country ish but not too much. I'm going to listen to it again to confirm but as of now i want to give it a 5. this was good and i appreciate this type of music. I think it can be an album that people of all types of music tastes can enjoy and find value in. I'd listen again
this is my second album i've gotten from the kinks. I like the song victoria. so far i don't think this one is better than the previous album. the mixing of this isn't that great and it's hard to really hear the lyrics in my opinion. the instruments are just a lot louder than the singing.
This for me is a 5. I love lcd, I love this album. All my friends is my favorite song of all time, I love it so so so much and whenever I hear it I have so many emotions pop up. It has been with me for so many years and seeing them live was so cool and incredible and hearing my favorite song live was spectacular. I was ironically by myself listening to all my friends. The top songs from this are all my friends, someone great, new york I love you but you're bringing me down, but they're all great. the backstory of this album is so interesting. I just love everything about it. They're def not for everyone but I think if people gave them a fair chance they would actually enjoy their music. always 5 minutes and up which is actually kind of great considering all my friends is 7 minutes long and I never want it to end. it's a good move to pick a favorite song that's really long. happy to listen to my favs.
bridge over troubled water is such a big song, so grand, it takes you everywhere. we listened to this album growing up. I think my mom has the live version. I love cecilia. the boxer is a great song I've always liked. they're really good at making you feel sad on some of these songs. and then they can be so upbeat and happy. the duality of man. it's a great album. i love only living boy in new york. this is a good album to listen to on a rainy day.
I've seen this album on people's lists getting a 1 so I was expecting this to be not that good. But it is good, so I'm really confused about that. She's good and soulful and interesting to listen to. Son of a preacher man.
hi this is one of my favorite albums so its a 5. I have it on vinyl so you know it's real. the guitar in this is so good, super full and warm in a way. the strumming is so intentionally strong i love it. like the guitar on grace come on. the covers are unparalleled. fav is lover you should've come over. so many different sounds on one album that works so well. wonderful and tragic that there couldn't be more
I know nothing about this band. I'm interested to know what the vibe is. I think my impression based on the name only was that they're a country artist but they're not and they're British lol. it's fine so far, nothing is jumping out at me as special. it's been pretty average idk. southbound again is groovy. it's not bad just a little bland.
this album is so good, i already loved it before this list. It's just so much better than you expect it to be. it's just all a vibe. I have this on vinyl too but not because i seeked it out. it's a delightful surprise. first song is such a bop. porcelain how iconic and nostalgic can you get. why does my heart feel so bad is so good. its just great all around i can't deny that
first song is amazing, teen age riot. I love the sound of the song, kind of lo-fi which I love. I'm excited to listen to this album. teen age riot is the song I could live in. the album is good but long, the songs are too shoegazy for my liking and can be hard to follow but it is overall interesting to listen to. maybe this just affirms that I need a melody to songs but I'm not so stringent that I can't appreciate it
this album is gonna be a great crazy ride. so many hits from one album. gotta love a whiny voice. this is definitely more of a sound that I like and want to hear. don't look back in anger is so good i just want to belt it out. all of these songs are so anthemic. guitar hero represent. i think every song on here is good. champagne supernova is maybe my fav. it's been my fav for a long time i think. everything on this is grand and cool. bands wish they could achieve this effortlessly cool sound.
references to their own songs is always fun for me. I love America dearly, feels so nostalgic and grand and sad and informative. I've already had a simon and garfunkel album come up on this journey and mentioned that it reminds me of my mom and my childhood. maybe america is important due to the whole american dream correlation and association that i have with it. the transitions into each song are so great. albums don't sound as pure as this anymore. the lick in a hazy shade of winter goes hard. a great listen, short and sweet and magical
i've heard a lot about this album but I haven't ever listened to it. i like glory, i like never said. i like explain it to me. so far i like it i can see why it has this acclaim. the sound is cool. it's all blunt and matter of fact on this album but melodic still. it feels kind of timeless. no all these songs are good and have a point of view. deserves multiple listens. its real in a way that most of us think about things but never dare to say those unfiltered thoughts. she does it unapologetically and that's so damn cool.
This album is a true 5 out of 5, 10 out of 10, no notes. I have always enjoyed Stevie Wonder and his voice, he has so many good songs but I was not prepared for this album to be so amazing. The instruments used throughout the whole album are so vibrant and unique the harmonica is so essential to these songs and this sound and maybe it's an overall underrated instrument in music in general. I think that's one takeaway listening to this. This is the blueprint for so many albums to come, I feel like it's specifically a blueprint for the miseducation of Lauryn Hill based on the array of topics covered in this album. It's talking on so many important and pivotal events and subjects in life, from love to birth to racial equality to dream like traits in life, the title is so aptly given to this. It deserved all it's praise and more than I can give. My favorites that I can remember are I wish, Ordinary Pain, Isn't She Lovely, As, and Another Star. This took me 2 days to finish because it was so long but it was so great. This kind makes some other 5s I've given out look like 3s now.
I was thinking about beach house on my drive to work this morning and how I haven't listened to them enough and how I only know a couple of songs from them and not full albums minus the one I have on vinyl from my record club and now this is the album I get on that same day. Must be a sign. I like zebra, it's familiar. I think I have this album on itunes but I just never listened to it. I'm not sure why I haven't given it a chance. I've been really into dreampop shoegaze music lately so this falls in line. Just reminds me of tumblr. overall enjoyable, easy listening, good background music.
