Bluesy jam album
Lots of cool stuff to pick through
You can lose yourself in the guitars and/or the lyrics
^^^ very slow pace if that's not your vibe
Key to the Highway is one of my favorite long jams of all time
Cool mix of standards, covers, and originals
Amazing album art
Layla is a tragically beautiful centerpiece to the album
Guitar and synth combo is so fun to listen to
Feels like the whole band is just on the edge of losing control
One tempo - as fast as possible
Panama and Jump are 2 of my favorite rock songs
I'm embarrassed by the lyrics sometimes
The intro to Hot for Teacher is nuts
Super short and an easy listen
Huge mountains of sound
It amazes me how pretty the guitar solos are
Beautifully written lyrics allow me to hear voices from a unique perspective
Thematically, it's so dark
The singles all ~smack~
Fiery and strong vocals
The band sounds hollow and feels super forgettable
Costello's lyrics blur the line between "devil-may-care" attitude and sociopathic, abusive asshole who gets pleasure from pissing people off
This dude is king of the incels
Perky punk
Our Lips are Sealed and We Got the Beat are bangers
Everyone in the band is just jammin hard
Automatic is a cool song but feels like it's on the wrong album and slows the album down
The ways the vocalists interact sound so cool
It's not very good but you can tell they tried really hard
I preferred the instrumental versions of most of these songs
They could've slipped the Super Bowl Shuffle in there and I wouldn't have noticed
"We got all the lines and all the rhymes / We don't drop dimes and we don't do crimes"
Guys must've been allergic to 3 syllable words
I'm glad that Darryl McDaniels clarifies the origins of his stage name DMC: "The D's for doin it all of the time / The M's for the rhymes that are all mine / The C's for cool, cool as can be"
Doin. Rhymes. Cool
Chic Cheer is a bold start
Savoir Faire is an incredible instrumental jam
Bangers: Le Freak, I Want Your Love, and Sometimes You Win
20+ musicians on this album all just nailin the vibe
Nile Rodgers is a legend
At Last I am Free is beautiful and amazing
Sneaky Luther Vandross
No skips
Have had this album on repeat for a bit
Cool concept; they nail the mood through the whole album
Since I Left You is just a great song
Never knew when one song ended and another began
Feels like a complete work
Rhythm section jams through the whole album - kept me listening enough times to try to figure out what David Byrne is singing
Lyrics are very poetic in a punk kinda way - Thematically it's much more abstract than the title implies
Take Me to the River is a banger
Vibe is very \"Holiday Club at 1 in the morning\"
HAAaamMBUUURrgerr LAAAaaddyYy
Dark but playful soundscapes that I had fun picking through
Reminds me of a New Wave film but in an album
Weeping is really sad but pretty
AB/7A has unsung lyrics but don't look them up unless you want to ruin your day
I think outsider art is interesting in general
Probably won’t listen to it again any time soon
Just a joy to listen to
The quartet creates such full and vibrant music
The instruments interact in such a fun way
The reediness of the sax is perfect
Blue Rondo a la Turk builds to a beautiful climax for an awesome start to the album
It's nearly impossible to count time for any of these songs without a guide
I had to play Take 5 in high school band and never thought about it again until today
I couldn't play it like Paul Desmond tho
Peak Las Vegas show music
Horns have a energetic and lively sound
Scat really pushes the definition of music but it's a vibe here
This dude is down bad and knows it but really seems to be making the best of it
Basin Street Blues/ When it's Sleepy Time Down South is absolutely unhinged. The part where the steamboat goes "woo woo" had me dying. The trumpet solo is fun too.
There's a part of one song where the band just decides to play In the Hall of the Mountain King for some reason
He seems like the friend who always suggests going to a strip club
Lots of B-list bangers on this one
Stadium rock is fun; love how big the sound is
They figured out how to make the synth and guitar play nice with each other
All the singles have a hook that slaps
Vocal harmonies are so catchy
Animal took 3 years to write; Pour Some Sugar on Me took 2 weeks
Didn't Rick Allen have two arms on their last album?
One of the best intros I've ever heard
Lyrics are mid
Kanye
Love her long rambling vignettes
The music rambles with her
Triggers my wanderlust
Beautiful voice
Captured by the cover art
Sympathy for the Devil is not only an A-list banger but also an all-time way to start an album
Pretty sure these are considered standards at Chicago basement shows
The instrumental arrangements are so creative and turn blues into something special
Irish, folk punk - cool
The name and the album art are absurd
Dirty Old Town is the Virgil van Dijk song and it's a bit cruel of the website to do us like that yesterday
Loved following along with many of the stories in the songs
If you mention this album to a certain type of Southsider you'll end up talking about the IRA for the rest of the night
I'm a sucker for a good version of Waltzing Matilda
The dynamics change on Maesha hits so hard
The drums on Blues for Huey are legendary
The harmonies with the sax and the horn on nomali are smooth while the keys go nuts
Interesting mix of jazz styles
Johnny Rotten is one of my favorite vocalists
Big time Elvis Costello vibes
ANARCHY
New York is an atrocious song
So are a lot of them tbh
Let’s go ahead and call this outsider art
Super technical
Peaceful guitar harmonies followed by heavy metal is cool until you do it on every song
Feels like a commercial version of Throbbing Gristle
Can't think of a single time I would want to listen to this
If you mention this website when the play Don't You Want Me at Holiday Club this Friday, I'll buy you a beer
What the hell is a wonderwall anyway?
I assumed this was a high school English project and was disappointed to learn that it was actually written by fully grown adults
I love songs in multiple languages
Chill vibes - they'd be great on the little stage at Piqniq
Kinda a crazy listen with headphones
Great production
Definitely took a couple listens to grow on me
Kinda like Throbbing Gristle but everything is a little nicer
I really wish I could hear this album for the first time again
Don would look good with one of those haircuts on the cover
In My Life is one of my favorite songs
Norwegian Wood and Nowhere Man are top tier Beatles songs
The deep cuts are forgetable when you compare them to the hits but they're just really solid Merseybeat
Isn't he just like you and me?
Saaaaaad folk music
Listened to this in the cemetery - big time vibes
So simple and so beautiful
Vincent, Crossroads, and Winterwood are on repeat
Listened to this in the bath - also big time vibes
The harmonies in a round on Babylon are great
And American Pie is on this album
Saw the cover and knew this would be a banger of an album
Funky jazz
Crazy they did a cover of one of their own songs (highly recommend listening to their first attempt)
Technically wild
Another awesome album cover
War Pigs, Iron Man, and Paranoid are all bangers
Iconic guitar riffs through the whole thing
Geezer Butler must've had a vision of the apocalypse or something
Each instrument is competing to be the lead and they're all winning
There's a ballad written straight from Hell
Feels like a complete piece of art
Easily within the top 5 most listened to albums in my life
Would always pop this on and rip cigs while I lived in Europe
Morrissey is such an asshole / Morrissey is hilarious
Johnny Marr is one of my favorite guitarists

Shoutout to I Know It's Over, Bigmouth Strikes Again, and Frankly, Mr. Shankly
There Is A Light That Never Goes Out is one of my all time favorite songs
Was very surprised to see this one described as a commercial success
70s synth music hahaha
Prog rock is always so absurd
Feels like it was written for Broadway
None of these songs have any sort of normal structure
Dreamer almost smacks
Personal and political soul music
Is soul just blues + jazz + heart? Big vibe
Lotta jazz poetry on this one
Warm sound to the music
"GIL SCOTT-HERON" -LCD Soundsystem (Losing My Edge)
H20 Gate Blues was a favorite of mine
"Richard Daley: imperial, Napoleonic Mayor of Chicago / Who took over from Al Capone and / Continues to implement the same tactics"
I liked the interludes throughout
Cool lofi, R+B vibes
Nothing wrong with this album but I'm confident I'll forget about it
Great background vibes
Naming an album after Marcus Garvey is wild
Such a Lyle album
Gotta love some 70s blues rock
I love how the keys are tuned
Kinda metal
Consistent vibe
Production is awesome - must've sounded crazy when it came out
It was a Good Day is such a fun song
Interesting political commentary
Reminds me of Be but with better lyrics than Common but no Ye
These guys jam
Nearly an hour long... yikes
Vocals are awesome
Lyrics are clever at their best but sound like an edgy suburban teenager at their worst
Love being a walking abortion
Beautiful lyrics and a beautiful voice
sad
DONT YOU KNOW talking about a revolutions sounds ~like a whisper~
Love the African rhythms that start popping up later in the album
Baby Can I Hold You is an all time 80s rock ballad
What else could I add to a conversation about Fast Car
Feels complete
Originally listened to the wrong k.d. lang album...
Love the way the instrumentation builds in a couple of these songs
Huge credit to the musicians for not falling asleep while playing some of this stuff - very simple
Kinda hops around a few styles and doesn't really blend any
Big time Holiday Club vibes
Love that they just tossed Moonlight Sonata on there
Route 66 is a banger of a cover
Throbbing Gristle walked so these guys could jog moderately faster
Sounds like someone tried to conduct the machines in a factory
