White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Oct 12 2022

I like the stripped down and southern feel of it, very to the point. Not something I'd relisten to but has made me interested in the white stripes

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Oct 12 2022

This is pretty tight. Not as good as their live jams but still groovy

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Oct 14 2022

Father and son is ridiculously good. Everything else is pretty good, a few songs are a bit too hokey for me. Last song is a huge anti climax

At Budokan by Cheap Trick
Oct 17 2022

Great chemistry and performances. Songs are just okay though. Would see live, they put on a good show

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Oct 18 2022

Yeah, I can't stand funk/rap metal fusions. I'm sure there's stuff to love here, but I find this really obnoxious

1999 by Prince
Oct 20 2022

I didn't realise prince was THIS horny. It's fun but I can't see myself dancing to it unless the vibe was strong. Some vocals are a little grating. Got a soft spot for some of the bubbly synths and drums for sure, but this album is way too long to be 90% upbeat dance songs

Tommy by The Who
Oct 21 2022

Rock opera go brrr. Music itself is interesting and surprisingly layered and diverse. Some bluesy stuff, some orchestral stuff, lots of weird interludes. Very clean production. Lyrics are.. interesting. Will needa give this another listen

Punishing Kiss by Ute Lemper
Oct 26 2022

This is beautifully arranged. Vocals are very emotive and the storytelling is really nice. Very intimate. VERY caberet. Feels like I'm in a latenight candlelit club filled with smoke. Purely for vibes, I like it. The songwriting just makes it better.

Oct 27 2022

Incredible performer, very expressive and great range. Songs themselves are great too, and the backing band is great. Transition between songs is so seamless. That whole section in "i lost somebody" is captivating

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Oct 28 2022

A classic. Some songs are a bit lame, but there's enough variety and left-hooks to keep the whole thing engaging despite it's huge length

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Oct 31 2022

Sometimes a bit flashy for my liking but undeniably groovy and heavy. Amazing tones. Gives me a dirty southern vibe. The vocal layers are great too. Good songwriting, kinda doomy.

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Nov 01 2022

I see why they call it soul. This shit is caressing my soul. Really smooth and I love basically all the instrumentation. I love the jamminess of it, the repetition really helps sell the groove and atmosphere. Isaac has a beautiful voice, last song shows off his emotive range quite strongly. Not crazy about the lyrics but they're pretty serviceable.

Nov 02 2022

FINALLY a hiphop album. Great energy and dynamics between all the members, very lush and groovy backing tracks, I'm a sucker for this jazz rap stuff. Really good flows, very varied. I like how fun and goofy it is too, it really sounds like they're having fun in the studio and just goofing around with each other. Some of the skits can be a lil annoying but I'm never one for skits

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Nov 03 2022

It's groovy, it's vibey, it's lots of 12 bar blues, it's nothing amazing, but I like it. Dad has this on vinyl and I preferred listening to it drunk on Christmas with tons of dust on the record. But that's nostalgia value for ya

Station To Station by David Bowie
Nov 07 2022

Groovy. I see how people can love Bowie so much. Can be a bit jaunty but overall very nice
