I've heard Nick Drake before! This is the Garden State guy! Same great soft sounds, but still not something I would actively seek out.
A-bop-bop-a-loom-op a-lop-bop-boom. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be (though the slow songs are a bit of a slog). Pretty fun to think about this being on the radio back in the day.
I've never been so bored.
upbeat and good energy but holy moly so sexual
didn't realize this was from late 80's early 90's. I can see the love for shoegaze.
a WOO HOO - bmw clive owen track fuck yea. rest of album was meh
pretty fuckin' slammin. 4 stars just for "When Doves Cry". Darling Nikki crazy sexual with a hidden religious message at the end - what the heck lol. Now I gotta go watch the film
I keep coming back to this. Hauntingly beautiful. Where dreams go to die.
Pavement - Unfair - woooooo *listen to me again. not a 5 but a solid 4
1970 - first solo album after beatles broke up. a triple album! "My Sweet Lord" – recognize it woot. "i really wanna see you" to impatience "it takes too long". Kinda interesting crossover b/w christianity and hindu. "what is my life" another jammer I recognize. Had no idea this was solo George. Ultimately not my cup of tea but can respect the craft.
solo work from a pink floyd member. Wiki is pretty wild - guy went overboard with drugs. Can appreciate that the lyrics are pretty deep, but still just doesn't get me going.
recognize wild world Tea for the Tillerman - wholesome af Love the voice, love the lyrics, my soul needs more.
forgot how popular the inbetween track skits used to be. some of this stuff doesn't age well but man there's a ton that just slams
hell yea voodoo people. also poison is jammin. nearly a 5
second album 1963. I enjoyed this quite a lot. though, my favorites were covers :) You Really Got A Hold On Me Money (That's What I Want)
good. like seeing the experimental stuff come out, but still just good.
take on me! first album of Norwegian new wave 1985, wowza
eno and byrne makes for such a unique sound. I love it but it also doesn't rouse any substantial feelings in my gut.
i'd play THPS to this for sure.
pretty pretty
too many lyrics, a little same samie
