Stevie WonderA lot of the tracks felt more riff/vibe based, was expecting catchier tunes. Would probably grow on me with repeat listenings, but didn't immediately grab me.

Liked it, nice mix of feels within the blues rock style. Brown Sugar and Wild Horses stand out as you'd expect but show off very different aspects of Jäger/Richards' writing. Couple of jam-style tracks feel like filler material though.
Some foot tapping grooves, and you can't help but know the hooks from 90s TV ads. But it's background music, not something you listen to.
A collection of beautiful songs in a range of styles. Didn't gel as an album as much as I'd imagined it might.
I'm a fan of this album, but I've listened to it for 20 years and know the songs well. The first half has the stronger, more accessible material- End of the World, One I Love and Exhuming McCarthy are the highlights. The last few tracks are more droning and repetitive.
Straight forward 1980s soft rock, then out of nowhere you're hit by these weird incongruous guitar solos. I know EVH was a hero to many, but I don't get it.
Pretentious rubbish that thinks it's clever. I clearly haven't taken enough drugs to appreciate dance music.
In Pursuit of Happiness is wonderful, but I've always felt this album tails off very quickly. Lots of dirges.
Very cool, chilled. Simon and Garfunkel crossed with Pink Floyd.
When I first heard this in the 90s I thought that (with the exception of Bittersweet Symphony) the songs were all either dour acoustic ballads or low-fi discordant jams. Enjoyed the re-listen much more than expected, though doesn't feel like groundbreaking stuff.
Had no idea what to expect going into this one. Very cool 1960s blues rock.
Found this much less offensive than Orbital 2, but it's still music by computers. Take a 3s sound clip, loop for 10 minutes.
A lot of basic two chord vamps. Background Muzak.
Can see the influences on a lot of later bands. Reminded me a lot of Joy Division.
The definitive 1980s hard rock album. Still brimming with swagger, full of great songwriting, memorable riffs and awesome solos. It all fits together amazingly well.
Sounds very much like Hendrix or Cream to me, not sure why it has any more right to be "early heavy metal" than either of those. Nothing wrong with it.
Very listenable 80s pop.
This just oozes cool. 40 minutes of pure party funk.
Some nice blues rock and some cool covers. The full version of Layla is a highlight. A bit over-long though.
Sounds tame by modern standards, but it's got the same proto-punk energy as The Kingsmen. Bit of a hotch-potch but very listenable.
Wow, that was tedious. 75 minutes of beepy noises.
Epic soundscapes with delicate melodies woven through.
Was looking forward to this and thought it'd be my sort of thing, but didn't get anything from it at all. Possibly need to give it another chance when I'm less distracted.
Cool album, with some of the Stones darker more experimental stuff on there.
Great chilled album.
There's a listenable groove going on. I don't listen to enough rap to know if this is a good, bad or indifferent example, but it's pretty same-y throughout to my ears.
It's good, takes a little while to get into the groove. Cross between Tori Amos and Vampire Weekend.
Early folk rock. Listenable, undemanding.
Cool album, some classic riffs, some great melodic tunes. Maybe overstays its welcome by a handful of tracks.
Liked this, melodic, interesting. I often find Bowie's songs too repetitive (thinking of things like "Rebel Rebel"), but none of that here.
It's proto-punk, very much in the style of The Stooges or Dead Kennedys. Too discordant for me, a really difficult listen.
Really interesting album. Can hear some strong Beach Boys influences in the vocals and composition, in turn must have been a major influence on acts such as the Flaming Lips. Slightly too long perhaps.
It's nice, but feels pretty middle of the road.
Fantastic big band swing. You can feel the energy and excitement in the room. And I'm a sucker for a good shout chorus!
Some classic singles and a lot of filler.
Bland, tedious, and his voice is annoying.
Enjoyed this, very punk, very goth. A bit repetitive perhaps and no stand-out "wow" moments for me.
