It's like if slam poetry was on Prozac. Not my cup of tea for sure but doesn't mean it's not a good album. If you like any song that could be an intro to any Michael Cera movie than this is for you!
One of those albums you can get lost in, which is a very rare thing these days.
Almost 50 years since this album and they definitely started a generational trend. They put punk on the map and this album shows just how ahead of their time they were.
It's that slow vocals vibe lounge singing vibe. Definitely makes you feel like you're sitting in the rain with flowers in your hand watching your high-school sweetheart kissing the quarterback of the football team vibes.
A classic, Feel good album.
The best way I can describe ABBA is if Halloween music had class. They had their own vibe for sure and it's not bad at all but it is very 80s intro movie esq.
You can never go wrong with listening to Bowie.
This is a 2 hour, 2 disc album. Very psychedelic in sound and feeling. For a time when bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam were starting out and creating a new wave. These guys stayed the course with the love and peace, hippy sounds of the slow psychedelic Era that was big in the 70s. Take an edible, put on some headphones and get lost in the Organ.
Definitely a trend setting album. They slowly started to turn the old blusey, big bopper swing, 60s rock n roll into their own sound. You can hear many different bands sounds from this one album.
Baba O'Reilly is one of the best opening songs of any album of all time. This album is a classic rock hall of famer.
It has that mix of 80s rock/metal and punk. If you remember this album you definitely still have an old leather jacket hanging in your closet. Not the best, but not the worst.
The music is fine but listening to a live album from over 40 years ago just doesn't have the same luster as it once did. Poor choppy quality ruins what is essentially a greatest hits rock n roll/metal album.
Ah yes. One of the original boy bands of America. Growing up with a Catholic Grandmother from California you had 2 constants in her house hold. Prayer and listening to Beach Boys vinyls. Both were over done and forced upon me as a kid. And both are over rated. Beach Boys had a certain sound but theyre essentially just an a Cappella band with extra steps. Every song is the same melody and harmonizing vocals. Which was cool 50-60 years ago but even growing up liking all kinds of music I could never appreciate what the Beach Boys had.
This Album will forever be in my top 5 of all time. Old school RHCP had it all and they went hard with this Album. Power of equality sets the tone for the entire album and it does not disappoint
One of the original Ska bands to bring the genre to fruition. They weren't quite punk and weren't quite Reggae. You can definitely see "newer" bands were influenced by these guys. Guys like Catch 22, Reel Big Fish, Aquabats really took inspiration from The Specials. You don't need any herbal influence to enjoy these guys, but it helps.
Pretty standard 70s British rock n roll album. Shirtless, flamboyant, and some very uneeded tambourines. I learned something new though. That Cum on Feel the Noize was originally theirs and Quiet Riot just made it better. But it's not a bad album or band. It's just if you've heard any glam rock song before you've heard them all, they all have the same vibe. I'm also glad tambourine solos are not a thing anymore.
Nothing wrong with a little smooth jazz in your life. You want to make a baby. This is your album. You need to relax in a candle lit bath. Hugh's your man. This man pretty much invented Lofi beats to study to. It's a great album if you need something to just relax and soothe you.
Mortorhead is definitely best enjoyed in moderation. Although the rock n roll riffs were always killer. Lemmy only had one note under his belt when singing and that's all you got. So enjoy it but you will realize you don't know where one song ends and the next begins as they all sound pretty similar
Top tier heist movie music. He's got his own sound and tends to lean a little more on the poppy side of the fence although there's some old school hip hop and rock riffs mixed in. I think Beck hits that balance pretty well which keeps the whole album pretty fresh and exciting
If Arctic Monkeys and Bowie had a love child. It has that old school Bowie vibe on each song and overall is a pretty refreshing album
If you ever wondered what a techo version of The Talking Heads sounded like. Look no further. Overall not bad. Very 80s techno.
I wouldn't call this a music album. This is a performance. Ioved the energy and uniqueness of each song. It seriously felt like I was listening to Michael Jackson again. Loved everything about this album. Not quite pop, not quite jazz, not quite rock or rap or R&B. I'm definitely going to relisten to this album until I'm sick of it.
Back in the saddle is probably one of my favorite all time rock n roll songs. Unfortunately the rest of the album doesn't really keep up and is pretty on par with any other rock album from the 70s
I'm not normally a fan of live albums from over 50 years ago. However this one is overall pretty clean quality wise. Very heavy rock blues type album. A little repetitive in their sound and 2 of the songs are just an hour long jam session. But overall not bad. It's not life changing music but it's definitely not bad music.
Some fun DJ music. Not as heavy as let's say Daft Punk, but very heavy into incorporating samples into every song. It's fun seeing all the puzzle pieces come together to create music.
Andre 3000 taking notes. If you need some relaxing music in your life. This is it.
Imagine if David Bowie was punk rock. This has punk vibes to it but it is a "happy punk" if you will
Rock n roll Randy Newman is pretty cool
GZA is "The genius" for a reason. His flow and lyrics were years ahead of their time. This is that old school in your face rap from an actual MC. Not just a producer making a beat with a featuring artist singing into some autotune. So put on your headphones. Close your eyes. And listen to the story that this album tells.
Very 1970s rock n roll. Even if you havnt heard this band or any songs on this album. They'll sound very familiar as early rock n roll bands hardly had any differentiating features. Decent album. But not for me.
Pretty standard 70s rock album. I still think Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel had better solo albums after they left. That doesn't mean this a bad album by any means. It's just very 70s rock which in itself was never very unique.
He was the goat in a lot of ways. Most of his albums have that nostalgic feeling to them.
I would say this is kind of what grunge evolved into. This is like an alt rock version of Nirvana. A little grungey, a little poppy, a little bit of techno. Over all it all kind of meshes together well.
