1001 Albums Summary

Broadly I like this album. I'd say "Clocks" is the standout track on it and the others I'd call decent rather than eccellent.

1. Safe From Harm - I hadn't noticed it on Massive Attack before, but the composition/mastering here is really good. Very crisp. (This is the 2012 mix/master, caveat emptor) 5/5 2. One Love - Very sparse. 4/5 3. Blue Lines - 5/5 4. Be Thankful For What You've Got - 3/5 5. Five Man Army - 4/5 6. Unfinished Sympathy - 5/5 classic 7. Daydreaming - 2/5 not as much a fan of the vocals on this one 8. Lately - 3/5 9. Hymn Of The Big Wheel - 4/5 Overall, 4/5. I love Massive Attack's sound in general, and the mix and mastering on this is top-tier, the album is pulled a little lower by a couple of the tracks I'm not huge on the vocals on.

Listening to Girls Girls Girls (and trying but failing to push through Girls Girls Girls pt. 2) I am now even more certain that I'm on the asexual spectrum. I like Jay-Z's sound, and enjoyed a few of the tracks on the album, but I don't think I'd go back and re-listen to the whole thing again intentionally.

I like some of the earlier tracks on this album, but rambling free-form slightly-dissonant tracks like The Gumbo Variations and It Must Be A Camel just are not my jam.
