1001 Albums Summary

Really enjoyed, light funk / jam band feel over what seems like an evolution halfway between Paul Simin’s Graceland and 90’s rock feel.

High energy, unique takes on classic tracks, this one is a gem.

Several covers that IMHO don’t do justice to the originals. Not a lot of interesting melody or energy. The idea here is that the singers very enchanting and beautiful voice will carry the album, but it just doesn’t do it for me.

Interesting mix of blues and more avant garde rock, feels like this influenced Radiohead (1968.) But lots of filler, not obvious why the album is on this list. Back half of album and “War Peace “ are the highlights.

The hits/singles are awesome. But the album as a whole is short, has filler, and seems disjoint.

Boring, generic folk with a hint of blues. Doesn’t have much to say.

It’s obvious why this band became so popular. High energy, zero pretension, pop jams with just a dash of punk attitude and subtle, understated musicianship. This is a great record to come of age to, and even better to reminisce over.

Classic. A bit long and better enjoyed as a “highlight reel” than a rock opera (there’s not much story here.)

Love it
