Disraeli Gears
CreamOk. Has some pretty decent tracks, and good bass.

Easy 4, starred out a little boring, but it picks up around ogre battle and it finishes really strong. As an album,ni find it well put together.
This album was surprisingly good. Lots of catchy tunes and nostalgia
Just phenomenal
Good blend of electro/rock. Sunrise is an instant keeper.
I just don't get it. When I was younger, I found Daft Punk to be boring and repetitive. Now that I'm older, I find Daft Punk to be boring and repetitive. Just not my genre 🤷♂️
It's...different. It's a pretty cool concept album that's more good than bad.
Hmm, I wasn't feeling it as much. 21st century schizoid man is a great tune, but moonchild was a chore to get through. Super impressed by all the layering of different sounds.
This is definitely a fun album to listen to. Basslines are funky and defined. The last song was really good with an intriguing storyline. Not bad.
Man I love me some disco-funk. The way all the different instruments fuse together, the keys, the horns...it's impossible not to feel the groove in this album. I thought I was just gonna like the funk in this album, but the soul, All About Love, was my favorite song here. 10/10
I like it. I'm a sucker for a rock opera, but that's not why I like it. I find the music compelling, the lyrics not so much. It comes off kind of pretentious, but I enjoyed it enough musically to overcome that. Burning Balloon is annoyingly good, and Baron Saturday is good as well, especially the percussion section. 4.5
Err...it's too slow. For so long, it drives along at such a slow tempo that when it speeds up to that 80s chase theme, it feels jarring and out of place which is a shame as I love how that piece evolves. I understand this guy makes soundtracks, but this is a soundtrack to nothing and it shows.
I listened to this a few times and I like it a lot. It does sound amateurish in production value, but musically it's fantastic. His voice is a treat to listen to, I love the way the piano is worked in, and especially I love the guitar solos, the tone is so dirty. The lyrics tell good stories without being in your face, although American politics...ugh. I didn't enjoy so many songs towards the end of the album, but this is one I will definitely come back to.
Boring and uninspired. Sounded like one long song with nothing unique or original.
Ok, I didn't want to rate this 5 stars initially just because it was Michael Jackson's Thriller. I made an assumption that I'm not into pop and I won't like this that much. I was wrong. Every song but PYT is a really good, catchy piece of art. If I had never heard MJ before, and I was alone when this album was released, it would have blown me away. I'm adding a quote from the wiki to my review because it's how I feel. "commercial success has since overshadowed Jackson's artistic accomplishments on Thriller, and that's a pity." This album suffers from being overplayed, but it shouldn't take away from the brilliant songwriting or Michael's vocal prowess. I could easily write a review for each individual song, but I think that's enough. 9.5/10
Creature of the night...cool wah bass. Bass and guitar play together really well. The beast...awesome guitar solo but not worth sitting through the first 4 minutes Language Problem sounds exactly like every one else at that time. I really wanted to rate this 3 stars due to the awesome guitar and bass parts, but I could not give this a 2nd listen due to buddy's voice. Shame. There's potential there.
I love Frank, I grew up with him. You're never gonna find a smoother love song voice. I'm biased but I'm not reflecting that in my rating as this isn't really the album I would have picked for this list. He has much better tunes than this.
It's bad. Like really bad.
It's OK, but I'm not in a hip-hop kinda mood these days. I like listening to this raw kind of rap sometimes, but it's not usually my style. I can bump to it nonetheless
I don't know why, but this album isn't working for me. Maybe its from exposing myself to more hip-hop but I find when I listen to this album it sounds like Em tried to hard. He steps out of his comfort zone in this album and it shows in the slower songs. Still a solid album, and nobody is as good with words as this guy so still full marks.
Psychedelic folk... it's not bad, but it's nothing special. If i was laying in a field of flowers tripping on acid, I'm sure I'd love it. Enjoyable.
It's alright, has some catchy tunes, Train in the Distance was lovely, but if I never hear Cars are Cars again it will be too soon. Write what you like to write I guess :p
Oh man, this was a really good album. I actually had really low hopes for it, expecting it to be some trappy experimental attempt at being "different", but nope. From the title track, I was hooked already. It's a smooth 7 minute trip carried by the strings and really opens up when the dub and piano comes in. Karmacoma is so different and yet it fits in as the next song really well somehow. Tricky has a really laidback but intricate flow, and with the beats laid behind him, it doesn't feel false or out-of-place. The 2 classically inspired pieces were my favorites. Heat Miser is just a really cool piece, while Weather Storm is more of a peaceful perfect rain song. Normally a beat like that would drive me nuts, but I always find myself humming it halfway through the song. The piano work is perfect, you can feel the song coming to a close before the beat starts to fade. This album is a great example of how minimalism can be better than more noise when everything works hard and in harmony with everything else. Most songs use very few instruments but they are brought together to create depth with the dubs and the keys and sometimes the strings. Every song was unique and diverse from the next and yet no song transition was jarring or unnatural. Despite being from many undefinable genres, this still sounds like one cohesive album. There was not a single song I didn't enjoy.
I'm not gonna pretend and I'm not gonna justify either. I don't enjoy listening to the Beatles. And this album is half cover songs. Sorry dawg, not for me.
I like Jack White a lot, but he doesn't differentiate himself from the Stripes enough. Still a lot of fun to listen to.
I was kind of hopeful after the last trip-hop album, but this falls flat. It has some funky grooves that get stale quickly, and the vocals are bland and dry. Would not recommend.
I really enjoyed this. His voice is really soft and comforting and the acoustics are intricate and well performed. The way his guitars play with the orchestral strings work wondrously, and evoke dramatic emotional responses. I found this album to be putting me in a good mood, it was easy listening, and honestly uplifting. Almost a 5.
I just can't even rate this album. I've listened to it twice and can't remember anything about it. I give up.
I don't usually listen to solo artists, because there isn't enough emphasis on the band or backing instruments. This is okay though. Joni has deep meaningful lyrics and awesome vocal inflections. I really enjoyed listening to this album, and related quite strongly with certain lyrics. Almost a 4.
It's punk, if there are any intricacies or nuances, I'm not educated enough to notice them. It's not bad, fun to listen to, but I don't really care for it.
This is really young Kings of Leon, they sound really raw, and unfortunately kind of commercial. I liked a lot of the songs, but for the same reason I didn't really like the album. It felt like pandering to the masses.
This album is angry. I'm not even going to get into the whole police brutally thing, but the anger comes across in every song. Also Predator and Good Day are bangers.
It's kind of fun, a lot of beauty in the chaos, but it's mostly chaos.
I like it. The first half was a little too much, but I really liked the vocals of the slower tunes, and the bass tones throughout were amazing.
I've been recommended Soundgarden many times, and they are good, but not my jam. I'm really appreciative of the alternative tunings and timings in most of the songs, and they create a sound that is dense without being too heavy. A lot of these songs (Black Hole Sun, Spoonman) are genuine bangers, but not enough to push this to a 4.
Holy crap, this might be the most annoying album yet, and that's counting homework. Every single song sounds exactly the same, with the exact same synth garbage, and that annoying voice that sounds like he's just sighing. Hated it.
I actually enjoyed listening to this a lot. I was dreading another 60s pop-rock album, but The Byrds have managed to set themselves apart from what everyone else was doing at the time, while still maintaining classic 60s elements. I had fun listening to this.
There was not even 30 seconds I enjoyed.
Such a good Aerosmith album. Sweet Emotion, Toys in the Attic, and Walk this Way are all iconic.
I wish this album was longer. This whole album put me in a certain headspace which was just calm and serenity. Common raps good, but I'm not sure how much of this album is actually his, because I just hear so much Kanye in it. The beats, the samples, and of course the songs he raps on. This one is going in my library.
Yo I liked this mostly. The only songs I really enjoyed is Every Man is an Island, and Soledad, but I liked the sound throughout. So many fusions of different cultures and genres, my ears were pleased listening to this.
Fun
I was disappointed honestly. With a name like Funkadelic, I was expecting more...funk. The songs were too long, without enough variation within, resulting in 8 minutes of repetitive motion. It's okay, but only if you aren't paying too much attention. As a rock album though...it almost works too. This album was less funk, and more "guitar solos with punk elements" The guitar playing was honestly unhinged, in a good way, but it could also be too impressive sometimes, focusing too much on laying down fat solos, instead of keeping some beauty in the music. Maggot Brain avoids this, but a lot of the songs had me thinking "okay, that's enough" I wish I had liked this.
Don't care for it. Sleeping on the Roof is okay.
How do you rate Christmas music? I appreciate the enthusiasm?
Wow I enjoyed this a lot right from the get-go. There was such a pleasant variety of sounds and genres, and I enjoyed every song on this album, especially the instrumental pieces. In fact, I'm gonna go listen to it again.
I don't hate listening to David Bowie because the songs are terrible, I hate listening to him because the songs are almost good. Most of these tracks have funky basslines I groove along to despite myself, but they are like...almost funky? And then Bowie comes in with his tin can voice and it ruins everything for me. I didn't hate this thaaat much.
A pretty fun fusion of metal and punk.
