Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Oct 21 2023

This was one of the first albums I remember listening to when I was younger. The first half of the album is definitely stronger than the second half, despite "In The End" being on the second half. Even with how overplayed "In the End" was back in the day, I do still feel like it is the best song on the album. It was incredibly easy to dive right back in to this album and listen all the way through.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Oct 22 2023
What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Oct 23 2023

A much softer voice than I remember. Very soulful singing with some jazz influence in the instrumentals. An album with the message of peace and coexistence. However, R&B isn't always my thing.

So by Peter Gabriel
Oct 24 2023

This is a tough one for me. I don't understand, or am ignorant of the importance of this album. It's good, but nothing I haven't heard before, and done better, by the likes of Phil Collins. It is a fun album that fuses several genres of music, and does it well. The music video of "Sledgehammer" is undeniable though. Overall, it's good, but I think others do it better in the same era.

Destroyer by KISS
Oct 27 2023

I am not a fan of KISS. I don't know how much my dislike of KISS has to do with how insufferable Gene Simmons is. While not a hard listen, I was happy when it was over.

Different Class by Pulp
Oct 28 2023

I have never heard of Pulp before this generator. They sound like the precursor to bands such as The Strokes and Artic Monkeys. While easy to listen to, Britpop isn't often my jam.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Oct 29 2023

I really had no idea who Fiona Apple was before this album. I have heard "Criminal" before, but had no idea who it was. This album was fantastic. Beautiful voice, emotional, and powerful. This is something I never would have listened to before, but am glad I have now.

Boston by Boston
Oct 30 2023

Possibly the greatest debut album of all time. I'm not sure there is a stronger start to an album than More Than a Feeling/Peace of Mind/Foreplay-Longtime. That said, the album takes a pretty noticeable dive after those songs. Still one of the all time bests.

S&M by Metallica
Oct 31 2023

This is a really fun collaboration. Also not something you see done all that often.

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
Nov 01 2023

Can't say I have ever heard of Barry Adamson before this. This album sounds like it belongs in a film noir or even Cowboy Bebob. Not a bad album, but not something I was hugely into.

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Nov 02 2023

This sounds like a rock album made in the 60s. Not sure how to describe it in words, but I would be able to pick the era pretty easily on first listen. I was not a fan of this album at all. I will be glad to never hear another "woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow" screech again.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Nov 04 2023

I've never been a huge Fleetwood Mac fan, but I do enjoy "Rumors". This album is nothing like "Rumors". I have to appreciate their willingness to just throw everything at the wall. Not all of it sticks, obviously, but it is a fun listen.

Music by Madonna
Nov 06 2023

This was not an enjoyable listen. Over reliant on autotune and techno. One of my least favourite covers of all time to finish the album.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Nov 14 2023

I only knew T. Rex as "Bring it on", so this is the first time I've listened to them beyond that. This was an enjoyable listen, and more funky than I thought it would be.

Boy In Da Corner by Dizzee Rascal
Dec 06 2023

It was a bit refreshing to hear British rap. It's not something I have ever listened to before. However, the Grime music genre isn't for me.
