Some catchy funk/groovy music - some nonsense sounds. Honestly don't know how I feel about the album.
Was really disappointed by the eponymous track “Station to Station” for being repetitive. Then “Golden Years” hit followed by “Word on a wing” and “TVC15” and the album got going. Rockin, catchy, the thin white duke on display.
Great moments on this album are bookended by overly repetitive riffs and added musical effects. Enjoyed but no intention on relistening later.
The punk? rock of Sonic Youth was just what I needed during a cold, rainy slow day. Nothing fancy but conveying a lot of energy and feeling through the songs. I enjoyed it, I felt like I was kept company by the band.
Enjoying the vibes. Not an all the time album - but certainly when you want to relax.
R&B or soul music or whatever you call it - it’s Marvin Gaye.
Moody, rhythmic, haunting. It’s a good album but apart from Personal Jesus nothing resonated with me strongly.
I thought it was alright- some of the melodies are kind of basic, the lyrics are predictable but there are some good songs like “Wildflowers”. Not what I usually listen to but I enjoyed it alright.
You definitely need to be in the mood for shoe gaze but apparently I was. Nothing stood out but it seemed to fit the feelings I was having at the time.
Just rocks. Photograph, Rock of Ages, Foolin, and Too Late for Love make this album great. Try listening to the opening riff of Too Late for Love.
Never heard of the album before - thought it weird it was on the list. But wasn’t bad, sort of like indie funk. A little too Muzak for me but a few songs I might put on a mindless playlist. 3 stars.
Experimental rhythmic music with a lot of yelling. 2 Stars.
It’s Bob Dylan. Folk-y, very stylized.
Weird almost tribal metal but German.
Very raw, just haphazard- no hint they’ll be any good later.
Classic southern rock, nothing fancy just good music.
Interesting. Weird cover of Jumpin' Jack Flash but also some original indian style almost psychedelic music. Felt stuff listening to it but wouldn't really listen again.
Classic - folky and poignant.
Almost like a proto lesser version of Thriller. Some hits, lots of misses.
Relaxed melodic music. Very nice.
Did not like. Like experimental but also early british pop music. Did not like.
Where did our love go/tainted love are their most well known songs - but they've got some like 80s dark disco songs on this album that are good.
Really enjoyed it even though its feels like the muzak version of depressing shoegaze indie rock. Very good to listen too while doing other things - and I mean that as a compliment.
0 stars. Hated it. Like the soundtrack to a bad local super religious play. This album was so bad I'm not going to give any other albums the benefit of the doubt and will start skipping albums as needed.
It’s ABBA. Catchy bubblegum pop. 3 stars
Smiths sort are perfectly ok.
Like Sam Cooke a lot. Liked the energy but Sam Cooke sounded hoarse or the recording was bad.
3 stars.
Drive me crazy and baby one more time are bangers. Rest of album feels dated and forgettable.
experimental instrumental. meh.
Folky country accoustic music. Did not enjoy much.
I know it's a classic but just seems like generic metal nowadays.
skits on rap albums are classic but you should be able to skip. some raps are meh, some are hits.
Hits the sweet spot of good rap songs + sampling.
I like Coconut Records which are obvious inspired by Elliott Smith. Smith not too much.
