Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Nov 16 2023

I love the layered sounds of this record. I'm a fan.

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Nov 17 2023

Meh. Never listened to him back then and never listened since. Maybe I need to give it more listens? Nothing grabbed me at all.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Nov 20 2023

I have never intentionally listened to Kanye. I would never listen to Kanye by choice. Not my thing. I think he is whiny. I liked some of the music and the beats but could do without a lot of the vocals and most of the interludes. Even tho I'm not a fan of most rap/hip hop, tho I could tell it was "dated" aka of another era sound-wise. Again, I wish there were half stars. I don't think this sucks, so I don't wanna give it a 1. But it's' not quite a 2 for me, but I'll give it a 2 cos it was not awful. I felt it went on about 3 songs too long tho.

The Yes Album by Yes
Nov 21 2023

I know 2 songs on this record from hearing it on the radio. I'd never put it on, but my ears didn't hurt from hearing it either. Not for me.

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Nov 23 2023

Kind of forgot about this one cos all I tend to gravitate towards is the Soft Bulletin. Then I listened to this and really enjoyed it. I should listen to it more often. I wish I could do half-stars cos I'd give this 3.5. I don't think it's a 4, but more than a 3.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Nov 24 2023

I know the tracks but I'm less familiar with this than with some of the others. I tend to gravitate toward the psychedelic albums. Certainly no complaints w this one.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Nov 28 2023

I like this record a lot. Gimme Shelter is such a great opening track. Prob the album I gravitate towards the most.

Pump by Aerosmith
Nov 30 2023

I didn't listen to Aerosmith back then and I don't listen to them now. Sweet Emotion is the only song I like and that's about all I need from them. I was way too cool to waste time listening to drek like this back in 1989. I needle-dropped the entire album and didn't stop to listen to one song in its entirety. Why bother? Steven Tyler's screaming on nearly every track coupled w the screeching guitar noise just grated on me and I needed to move on.

Kings Of The Wild Frontier by Adam & The Ants
Dec 01 2023

Funny I never owned any Adam Ant records and therefore only knew what my alternative station played. I like Antmusic the best. Idk if I'll ever put this on. It was enjoyable but I don't have a connection to it beyond that.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Dec 04 2023

I didn't give her a thought back when this came out. Then Extraordinary Machine came out and I loved it. I have since listened to Tidal over the years and I'm a fan. More appreciated for when she canceled a tour to be with her ailing, aging, dying dog. I dig this record.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Dec 05 2023

Psychedelic funk and soul that gets you moving. A fave of mine.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Dec 07 2023

Perfection from beginning to end.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Dec 08 2023

I didn't like them then but they grew on me.

Ace of Spades by Motörhead
Dec 11 2023

Every song sounds the same. Ace of Spades was fun only cos I already know it. Not for me.

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Dec 12 2023

I wish there were half stars. This is 3.5 leaning to a 4. So I'm giving it a 4.

Transformer by Lou Reed
Dec 14 2023

I don't think I've ever listened start to finish but I knew pretty much all of it.

Movies by Holger Czukay
Dec 15 2023
Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Dec 19 2023

Surprisingly, and I have no idea why, I never listened to this in its entirety even tho I was prime target age when it came out. I remember listening to it on cassette on my friends pink "boom box" stereo and we thought we were so cool that she had it. Anyway - it was great to listen to and remind myself to put it into context of the time and what they were doing as women in a male dominated world of music. 3.5/5

Very by Pet Shop Boys
Dec 20 2023
Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith
Jan 05 2024

Other than Sweet Emotion, is there any reason to listen to this? No. One star for one song.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Jan 08 2024

What is there not to like? His voice, his storytelling, the banter w the audience, the guitar, the band...the man in black is a legend. I'm more familiar w Folsom than San Quentin, but this did not disappoint.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jan 09 2024

Old skool hip hop is my jam. I didn't list much back then, but it was always around. Reminds me of a simpler time. Also, a more tolerable way to listen to one Aerosmith track.

Eagles by Eagles
Jan 10 2024
Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Jan 12 2024

Voted favorite album, band, song (fight for your right...) for my HS graduating class, and I couldn't stand it/them. It wasn't until after being encouraged to listen to Paul's Boutique that I even gave them a chance. Then realized they were making fun of all the people I went to HS with who voted for Fight for your Right to Party as their fave song. I def like this album but PB is my go-to.

Truth by Jeff Beck
Feb 09 2024

Never listened to him before, but saw him perform once with BB King. Enjoyed this more than I expected.

Sea Change by Beck
Feb 15 2024

I love this record.

Feb 19 2024

I remember when it came out, when I heard With or Without You the night before it was officially released... And I know just how amazing this album is. Most def one of my faves.

1999 by Prince
Apr 09 2024
OK Computer by Radiohead
Apr 19 2024

The album that made me go back and listen to their previous albums. Love them.

Purple Rain by Prince
Apr 22 2024

Perfection from beginning to end.
