Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Dec 11 2023

Full throated Cave. The Seeds are in their Sunday best. None of the songs got to me yet. Worth revisiting.

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Dec 12 2023

Neil Young made better CSNY records without CSN. Masterpiece, got the singer songwriter 70s rolling, downhill.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Dec 13 2023

Tracy is a voice. Too beautiful for my normal rotation. Fantastic debut album. Can be one note at times. But she did what she was doing. Classic.

Made In Japan by Deep Purple
Dec 14 2023

This is how Deep Purple is meant to be heard, live. If you are new to the band, start here. If you are into guitar riffs, look bo further.

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Dec 15 2023

And the Lord said let there be psychedelic blues rock. Classic, top shelf piece of art from the strange brew that brought the blues to white people. Jack Bruce is a beast, of course all three are beasts. Extremely British. Arguably colonial in nature.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Dec 18 2023

Historically important, but didn't have to be. The Pixies would be better if Kim Deal wrote most of their songs.

All Directions by The Temptations
Dec 19 2023

Decent record. One incredible classic and some other good songs.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Dec 21 2023

Bossa Nova anyone? Laid back, atmospheric, and groovy. It's like funk for runway models with no ass to shake, just a gentle bouncing swing through a cafe at dusk. Singular achievement. Total masterpiece fusing jazz and bossa nova. Just short of my heavy rotation because I'm not that chill.

Rising Above Bedlam by Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
Dec 22 2023

Great atmosphere record. Tribal EDM groove. Nice listen. Revist

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Dec 25 2023

Evolutionary Fugees. Good soul, probably good hip hop? Good sound, likely not for me. May revisit sometime.

The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Dec 27 2023

Beautiful, subtle album. Peter Gabriel meets Bjorn. Pat Benatar uptown cousin. Recommend

Done By The Forces Of Nature by Jungle Brothers
Dec 29 2023

This record has funky beats and a picture to paint. Good album I never would have found on my own. 80s hip hop was fun.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Jan 01 2024

The Stones finally figure out American music and kill the 60s all at once. Transcendent rock record. 11/10.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jan 02 2024

Fantastic album by one of the purest rock acts. Fogerty was a mad, frantic genius. Great album, not all time transcendent work of art. I'd go 4.5 if that was a thing.

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Jan 03 2024

This is the goods. Singular record that would have begun a new genre if humanity was worthy of it. Flawless masterpieces aren't always that entertaining or fun. At Paul's Boutique art, fun, and innovation flow like wine.

Da Capo by Love
Jan 04 2024

Average drippy hippy folk rock sap. Totally fine and forgettable.

Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt
Jan 10 2024

Interesting listen. Smooth folk decorated with psychedelic noise. Will revisit.

In Our Heads by Hot Chip
Jan 11 2024

Upbeat and positive. Excellent beats. Kinda smart and clever. Otherwise not particularly memorable. Remember to revisit.

Synchronicity by The Police
Jan 15 2024

Classic album. Probably great but I can't stand Sting.

The Rolling Stones by The Rolling Stones
Jan 17 2024

This is why I use this app. Great blues record. I gotta call myself a Stones fan now.

Fear and Whiskey by Mekons
Jan 18 2024

Interesting sound. I don't know who it was for in 1985. Or today for that matter. Very British. Like Depeche Mode trying to do hillbilly impressions.

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers
Jan 19 2024

It's fine. They have stuff to say and place decent guitar rock. It's just not particularly creative or memorable.

Jan 22 2024

Entertaining rock n roll record. Better than I expected from the genre and era.

Jan 29 2024

What is there to say? Cube was hard. E was alive. Gangster rap should have stopped right here.
