Live At The Regal by B.B. King
Jan 01 2024

Great live album. No-one plays blues like B.B. King Not a huge fan of live albums, but this is a standout.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Jan 02 2024

The big hits are classics for a reason. The other tracks didn’t hold my attention between those songs.

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Jan 03 2024

It is impressive to hear a 1hr 45 min album this strong and with so many huge hits. I can appreciate the skill and musicianship, but the songs do not speak to me.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Jan 04 2024

Easy 5, and it's not even their best album!

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Jan 05 2024

I love the playing on this. The guitar is incredible. Great interplay between the band.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jan 08 2024

How many different ways can you try and rhyme "California"? Gave up around the mid point. JF is a monster on guitar and Flea plays some great bass lines on this album, but RHCP are not for me.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Jan 09 2024

As close to a perfect album as I've ever heard. Hit after hit. The dynamics of the three songwriting styles is great and keeps you hooked after for the next song. Easy 5 for me.

Jan 10 2024

I liked it. Felt relevant depsute being 49 years old. Didn't feel samey despite the vocal/spoken word style. Really enjoyed the lyrics. It feels like a film about a cast of grimy characters.

Arular by M.I.A.
Jan 11 2024

The music is more interesting than a lot of other rap/hip hop albums from this time, but the lyrics just seemed repetitive for the most part

OK Computer by Radiohead
Jan 12 2024

First time listening to this, but I was aware of the regard it is held in. A lot less morose than I was expecting! I love the guitar playing on it, adds some odd textures to the songs. Really good album, lives up to the hype.

Parachutes by Coldplay
Jan 16 2024

I remember listening to this when it came out. I loved it then and I still really like it now. This album is a standout for Coldplay. There are some really interesting vocal melodies, it's more darker/odder than their later stuff.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Jan 18 2024

Really fun and bright hip hop album. The samples are great. It feels like the soundtrack to a Spike Lee film. It took a bit of a dive after the orgey skit which clashes with the vibe of the rest of the album.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Jan 19 2024

First time listening to a Sabbath album. The three big hits are great. It was more psychedelic than I expected. Tails off towards the end of the album.

Protection by Massive Attack
Jan 24 2024

Not my bag, slow and plodding

Jan 25 2024

The glam rock songs on this album are brilliant, the best example of campy glam rock. The slower songs are a bit lack luster. My least favourite thing about Queen is they try to do the Beatles thing and let every member contribute lead vocals, just leave it to Freddie! This kicks off like a classic album and then the drummer has a song which kills the momentum. Some killer, some filler.

The Blueprint by JAY Z
Jan 26 2024

Some unusual samples on this which I really liked. Renegade is probably my favourite rap song ever, my favourite verse from both Eminem and Jay. Really like Jay-Z's flow. He loves rapping about money, it's like listening to an accountant at times 😅

1984 by Van Halen
Jan 29 2024

Enjoyed the music, Panama is a banger. Didn't like the vocals as much.

Killing Joke by Killing Joke
Jan 31 2024

More interesting than I expected. The repetitive lyrics got old by the end of the album.
