Station To Station
David BowieI like Stay and the rhythm section- Dennis Davis drums? Golden Years slaps of course. But some is sleepier than I’d like/ and sometimes I want less maudlin Dave and more rhythm section grooving!

I mean- I was dreading having to listen to this one… To be honest… But also, to be honest… It slaps a lot harder than I thought it was going to! Of course we all know “Proud Mary” and Bayou but I have to say… The tones in the attitude of the band and recording are pretty darn tough! I still don’t understand Fogerty weird, southern drawl affectation… Aren’t they from the Bay Area? But this is pretty tough stuff in the band was kicking, but… Pleasantly surprised…
wow! I thought I'd listened to this- had I never? How hokey is that jaunty little riff to "Uh Oh Love Comes To Town!" And- steel drum solos? Did not remember this AT ALL. "New Feeling"- now there we go- vintage Heads. How did they bury what would be "the hit"- Psycho Killer at the end of the record? I think I knew this record, have the shirt (!!)- and I'm embarrassed to say- did not really know this record!
Ok I know the 3 singles from this album way too well. But there are sections from Weekend Wars and The Youth that are surprisingly beautiful harmony, and the production slaps. What a pleasant surprise.
One of the best records!!!
I wanted to be surprised with how much I’d love it but honestly so dated sounding!! Amazing that the female empowerment was so strong and bold and ahead of its time though.
I mean how is this record not 5 stars it’s perfect
I used to groan when my mother spun the Carpenters as a kid, but now I celebrate their genius and Karen’s syrupy comfort voice
What a surprise! Loving this album
This was my gateway to U2 and I love it
Pretty raw! I wants ta be loved!
So funny-- some of it "holds up"-- obviously "Breakdown" and surprises like the timeless (but not familiar?) "The Wild One, Forever", but some sounds soooo young and like generic southern rock. Definitely a giant in his/their infancy...
Definitely a vibe! Glad to become familiar with it
PERFECT
I have this on “CD” but know Doolittle better. Man I’d forgotten HOW GOOD THIS IS!
No thanks
