The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Jan 07 2024

Foggy Day: yah S’wonderful and Fascinating Rhythm: nah Boy am I glad I didn’t embark on some 52 song YouTube vision quest like that other guy

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Jan 08 2024

Beatles Buzzcocks world Party maybe some Neil Young. Very nice but A couple of duds.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Jan 09 2024

Very nice. Great rainy day album.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Jan 10 2024

No one doesn’t like only the good die young

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Jan 11 2024

This was a big one for me in high school, but it took me until just now to realize it’s all about drugs.

So by Peter Gabriel

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen

You know how you have to childproof every part of your house because the baby will try to get into everything without hesitation? And then if you try to set the same baby down in the grass on a nice day that same fearless child will immediately pick his feet up to not touch the grass. In this scenario I am that baby and this album is green green grass. You can listen to all the Garden State bro country you want, but please do it away from me.

May 01 2024

I rather enjoyed most of this one. The WEEyooooo keyboard sound is a little grating, but the bass and drums are fantastic throughout. I do feel like “America” is a miss, and kills the journey of the first 3 songs. Pleasantly surprised over all.

Tonight's The Night by Neil Young
May 02 2024

I’m not a Neil Young fan, but I do believe he has better albums. I love the guitars in Come On Baby. I do not love the chorus in Mellow My Mind where he can’t get close to that high note

The Who Sell Out by The Who
May 03 2024

Meh. This one starts out strong but runs out of gas way before it’s over. The radio theme is cool, but a lot of this album is chorus- bababadum babadum babadumdum drum fill-chorus repeat. Girls Eyes could have been a Monkees B side. I like the experimental bits but this sounds like a lot of everything else from 1967

Ritual De Lo Habitual by Jane's Addiction
May 10 2024

Great Album. A nice bridge between hairbands and alternative without giving up the guitar solos. Plenty of weirdness to make it edgy but still fun. Three Days is a massive ride iyw

1984 by Van Halen
May 14 2024

I don’t want to hear Van Halen play synth any more than I want to watch Picasso do pottery. Eddie does a great job here of writing good songs around his cool guitar tricks. Panama and Hot For Teacher are classics. Jump and I’ll Wait always felt like the beginning of the end to me. Drop Dead Legs is the ghost of VanHagar future.

Done By The Forces Of Nature by Jungle Brothers
May 15 2024

Great album. Great beats, samples, lyrics, delivery. These guys never had a hit single like the other guys but they clearly influenced the Beasties, De la Soul, Tribe, Wu Tang. Bring back old school hip hop. Get off my lawn

Eagles by Eagles
May 18 2024
May 20 2024

I love it. The bass breakdowns, cheap guitars, the vocals with too much gain, and the urgency. The last track is a good one but feels out of place

In Rainbows by Radiohead
May 21 2024

Started off interesting. Then I lost interest.

Tical by Method Man
May 22 2024

I like Method Man. This album shows he’s at his best when he’s with WuTang. All the 36 chambers references and the shoutouts here dont do anything to make this album stand out. The less good re-recorded “Method Man remix” stands out in a bad way
