Decent

I’m not a fan Chris Cornell’s voice so I’ve always had a bit of difficulty in liking Soundgarden but I do appreciate their guitars, especially on the heavier songs. The drummer is also really good, perhaps underrated

I’ll try to keep my disdain for generic pop music aside but the majority of the album is very derivative both lyrically and musically. It seems to show the push and pull of a relationship and often comes with a very basic song structure. It is danceable and singable so I can see why some would like it, just not my thing. The best and only quasi unique pop song would be shake it off. That’s the only song from the first two thirds that stood out to me. The best two songs for me were the last two a slower guitar song (I know places) and a more retrospective down tempo slow burn (Clean).

Was nice listening. Interesting to hear some of the chords and arpeggios created by different tunings. Not so unique now but at the time must have been pretty different to hear. Hearing notes lower than E for bass notes in the picking pattern was haunting to hear at times

Incredible album with slick guitar work and powerful accompanying lyrics to take down the machine. Love the chromatisms in the guitars and Tom morellos tones

Some cool beats and good rhymes. Kind of drones at times
