Oar by Alexander 'Skip' Spence

Very weird. Great emotions. Very pure and raw. Full of pain. Loved listening to it. I had the feeling I could hear what his brain looks like. Never heard anything like that before

Pump by Aerosmith

There was way better music at the time this album released and there are way better aerosmith albums out there. Liked the beginning but it then became more and more boring to a point where I had a hard time actively listening to it.

Doolittle by Pixies
Feb 14 2024

What was that? Great and unusual songwriting. Very weird. Sounds like surrealistic surf-rock from time to time. Last couple of songs are not as interesting as the rest of the record.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Feb 16 2024

Good songwriting. A whole lot going on and really interesting to listen. Positively surprised but unfortunately absolutely not my cup of tea.

Heroes by David Bowie
Feb 17 2024

Great atmosphere. Really good songwriting. Second half is getting weirder and weirder yet even more atmospheric. Definitely need to be in the mood.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Feb 18 2024

Almost hard to listen to. Definitely a good jazz record by the more I listen to it the more I realise, jazz is not my kind of music. Songs were the exact length that I wanted to skip it the last few seconds.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Feb 20 2024

Nice, funky, fun to listen to! Really good funky record. Loved listening to it. Not boring at all. Could become a new favourite.

Oar by Alexander 'Skip' Spence
Feb 21 2024

Very weird. Great emotions. Very pure and raw. Full of pain. Loved listening to it. I had the feeling I could hear what his brain looks like. Never heard anything like that before

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Feb 22 2024

Very exciting instrumentals. Fun listening to it. Very good songwriting. It's definitely a classic but I'm really not sure if we needed 11 bloody minutes of "Going Home".

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Feb 23 2024

Very complex songwriting but it has a very dry almost tinny sound. Still can't get over it how they mixed the bass to a point of it being almost not audible. Also the songs become more and more repetitive. Definitely not their best work but not their worst either.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Feb 24 2024

Meaningless is the only word that comes to my mind when listening to this. I see what they were trying to do but they really didn't hit the spot. Seems like the band you really want to like but simply can't. Unfortunately it's absolutely not memorable. I almost had a hard time listening through the whole thing.

Sunshine Superman by Donovan
Feb 25 2024

Absolutely love this album! I have a very special place for 60s music and especially Donovan in my heart. One of my all-time favourite records ever. Most of the time I had the feeling of taking a walk through the woods with little elves and dwarves crossing my way. For me, this is exactly what the 60s sounded like.

The Man Who by Travis
Feb 26 2024

This is the kind of album you put on at a party when you want your friends to leave. I really wish to never hear that album again. 47 minutes of my life wasted and no one's giving them back to me.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Feb 27 2024

Funky music with a deep political message. This is not the kind of music I usually enjoy listening to but that was great! Really enjoyed the songs and I have so much respect for that guy!

Orbital 2 by Orbital
Feb 28 2024

I cannot listen to this. Skipped every song. For me, this is bullshit. 0/5

Want One by Rufus Wainwright
Feb 29 2024

The album is ok but I'm definitely not the target audience for this one. It's not bad but it's not extremely good either. I think it's very bland, nothing really stands out. Could play in a shopping mall or grocery store as background music and it would fit just perfectly.

Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Mar 02 2024

Actually enjoy listening to his music. It's very relaxing and chilling. Really like falling asleep while listening to his music. Beautiful voice.

White Ladder by David Gray
Mar 03 2024

This is the perfect album for when you're having love sickness. Because this album is so fucking boring and bad you forget about it in a minute and come to the point that it's just not worth it listening to stuff like that.

Dummy by Portishead
Mar 04 2024

It didn't fetch me or I didn't get it. Maybe both. At first it felt a bit like old Evanescence stuff in a different way. They had many good ideas but didn't think them through. Felt like waiting for something that wouldn't happen. Like stopping every time you're about to orgasm.

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Mar 05 2024

An absolute classic and definitely a work of art. There's not much to say about the god of guitar playing. It has it's lengths in the middle part but All Along the Watchtower and Voodoo Child as the great finale?! Doesn't get any better than that!

Pieces Of The Sky by Emmylou Harris
Mar 06 2024

This is the kind of music my dad listens to. And as I grow older I can absolutely understand him. This is really good! I wouldn't be able listening to too much of it but this is a great album. Definitely on the slower and softer side but always worth a listen.

Destroyer by KISS
Mar 07 2024

Unfortunately I didn't really like it. It is mediocre at best. I think KISS has that whole nostalgia thing going for them because if you're being honest their music is not the best. And "Great Expectations" is one of the worst rock songs I have ever listened to.

Reign In Blood by Slayer
Mar 08 2024

Well, it's fucking Slayer. I think that says enough. Definitely one of the best metal albums to ever exist.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Mar 09 2024

Ok I've never listened to a whole Bob Dylan album and I can't say why. This is beautiful! The way he combines beautiful music with even more beautiful lyrics, telling stories of love and life is absolutely unique to this day. Even when you don't like his voice, his singing style, this kind of music, etc. you have to appreciate the amount of influence he had on modern music.

The Healer by John Lee Hooker
Mar 10 2024

,John Lee Hooker is an American blues legend no doubt about it. But I think the tons of collaborations made the album weaker than his old pure blues albums. I have no doubt it helped making a good amount of money with this one but I think it maybe didn't help the music on this record. Hooker's overall performance is great don't get me wrong.

S&M by Metallica
Mar 11 2024

It was ok. I liked it but I think Metallica is just not made for an orchestra. Also I think they didn't really choose the "right" songs for this album. There would've been Metallica songs that fit better. Anyway whoever plays a live orchestra version of "Ecstasy for gold" as an opener has a very special place in my heart. Best song of the album btw.

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Mar 12 2024

The songs were not bad yet not really good. And I must admit I hate her voice...

Repeater by Fugazi
Mar 13 2024

This is a great post-hardcore album. I'm sure it influenced a lot of musicians especially in the following Grunge era. Great basslines and a great instrumentation all together.

Pump by Aerosmith
Mar 14 2024

There was way better music at the time this album released and there are way better aerosmith albums out there. Liked the beginning but it then became more and more boring to a point where I had a hard time actively listening to it.

Bummed by Happy Mondays
Mar 15 2024

Boring, meaningless, sounds like the worst of the 80's combined. Not my cup of tea.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Mar 16 2024

This is a great album. Almost forgot that it exists. Great storytelling with music to brake your heart. Love her voice! She clearly was ahead of her time. This album is still great and important. Fast car is not a song it's a little gem. One of the few records I've listened to so far that 100% belong on this list.

Youth And Young Manhood by Kings of Leon
Mar 17 2024

Really really liked that one! Fun listening to! Great sound.

Phrenology by The Roots
Mar 18 2024

Not bad at all but simply not my kind of music.

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Mar 19 2024

This one's an absolute classic and one that deserves it's spot in this list. Great album with great tracks. Love that kind of british music.

Tical by Method Man
Mar 20 2024

It was ok. I'm absolutely not into rap music but I kind of liked this one.

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Mar 22 2024

Unfortunately I didn't like it

Blood, Sweat & Tears by Blood, Sweat & Tears
Mar 24 2024

Really good! Enjoyed it a lot. You really need to get involved in it, then it's a lot of fun. The bassist definitely carries this album.

Mar 25 2024

This one was one of my favourites when I was 16 and it still is today. I can totally understand people not liking it. It had a very unusual vibe to it when it came out. The kind of music you either love or hate

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Mar 26 2024

Usually Hip Hop is not my cup of tea but this record is great. Absolutely fun listening to and I really enjoyed it! What happened to that kind of music?!

Highly Evolved by The Vines
Mar 27 2024

It's definitely nothing too special. But this is a very good garage rock record. One of the few that stands out during a time where it felt there were only garage rock bands on this planet. Sure there are better bands and albums but this is one of the good ones.

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Apr 04 2024

That was a really garbage one. Didn't enjoy it one bit.

Good Old Boys by Randy Newman
Apr 05 2024

Why the fuck is the Toy Story soundtrack part of 1001 albums you must have listened to? Didn't really like the films, liked this album even less.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Apr 06 2024

Wow. Just wow. This one is amazing! Very weird and different but I really like that experimental stuff, 70s musicians did. Why is no one doing stuff like that today? I don't get it. Seems like musicians aren't brave enough these days. Maybe it's some kind of management stuff and they need to make more and more money so no time for experiments. Maybe I'm just getting old... Anyway, record is a good and solid 4 stars. 5th star for the name!

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Apr 07 2024

This album definitely sits in my all time top 10. Not their best album but still great and I simply love Pixies.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Apr 10 2024

Beautiful music. absolutely worth a listen. Loved his voice.

Parklife by Blur
Apr 11 2024

It's becoming very repetitive and boring pretty fast. What a pity. I always thought they had great songs but obviously not on that record. I love british music but there are way better bands!
