Get Weezer vibes, especially on Track 3 - just what i needed. Keytar shines through big time. I only recognized track 3 when the chorus hit, its from somecommercial in the 2000's dont remember what it was for though. Track 5 - Dont cha stop was fun until the chorus, then i hated it. Track 7 - bye bye love starts with a bang and and the guitar between each line in the verse reminds me of guitar hero. TRACK 8 - Moving in Stereo FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH TITTIES HELL YEAH. Final track - All mixed up, okay guitar guy i hear you there in the corner. Waiting for your moment and just slapping together a quick 4 bar solo. Great first album, great vibes and awesome instrumental breaks and solos.
Trippy intro 2 songs. Voodoo Chile - has a daunting 15 minute runtime but god damn, 5 minutes in and you just hear the soul coming out of the guitar, insane. It seems so improvised yet intentional. Super important to listen to with both earbuds so as not to miss the keys. Just when you think its fading out the drums comes in like its the final scene in whiplash and lo and behold theres still 6 minutes left in the song. Ive had a stink face on since the 4 minute mark because this song is NASTY. Burning of the midnight lamp has some real trippy guitar. Kill switch which sounds real nice in a car, the song went on a bit long though. You really hear the blues and jazz in every song. Tribe called quest uses a sample from rainy day, dream away which i caught. The producer really likes to fuck with the stereo sound coming left to right. 1983 lost me a bit, wasnt nearly as great of a long multipart song as voodoo chile. I was rockin pretty hard in traffic to still raining still dreaming, that song hit me to my core. Finally All Along The Watchtower was the first song i recognized on the whole album, its from something ive seen a lot. Maybe Forest Gump? Idk Great album, amazing for its time, so experimental and revolutionary.
Was driving while listening so limited notes. At first it kinda reminded me of Sheepdogs. It was cool music and i can definitely appreciate it, but just wasnt my jam. It was interesting listening to an African band with a very western sound.
Man this brought me back to playing Rock Band in the basement. Was awesome to hear a song im so familiar with yet sounds so different to the original recording, didnt know where the solos were gunna take me. Just the complete embodiment of the 80s, Child in Time had a sick tempo switch about 4 minutes in and then is followed by like a 3 and a half minute guitar solo. Giving Masayoshi Takanaka vibes. Smoooooooooke onthe waaaaaaater. The drum solo in The Mule I just kept thinking JK Simmons was there raising his hand up as the tempo built. Wild. Front man seems like a silly guy, especially in Strange Kind of Woman. Rest of the album was pretty good but yeah the last song dragged on for too long when just listening, probably much better to be there but alas, i wasnt born for another 22 years.
Was very familiar sounding. Hknestly what blows my mind about these old albums is how clear the audio is. Maybe im used to Bills cassette player where that would all be old physical media but these digital remasters are quite amazing. Album was pretty good, I thought that is i was an angsty teen Id love it. Like the godfather of alternative and indie music. I really liked Tombstone Blues, had a great western sound and lyrical theme. Similar to how i feel about a lot of modern folk music, it seemed to blend together. Makes for a consistent album, but sometimes I want a bit of variety. The songs with piano like Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues and stood out for me. You can hear where Elton Probably got a lot of inspiration. Loved From a Buick 6, really brought me back to Bill just blasting his music from his office. So.etimes hearing the same song 15 times cause he kept needing to recapture it.
I remember Good Times from that hip hop documentary. Black music at the time did not reflect New York and black neighbourhoods in the states during the 70's. Even though segregation was no more, people in the ghetto were far from the good times. Anyways, its interesting to hear this side of black music at its point in history. Interesting how The Message by Granmaster Flash came out 3 years after this and painted a VERY different picture. You can definitely tell these were played in the discos, big long dance breaks for the songs. Imagine getting teleported to a disco in the 70's, would be like another planet. Good Times was made for freestyling. But while the songs have good hooks they definitely overstay their welcome. Obviously these songs were played in disco techs back in the day but it makes just listening in your car a bit tiresom. Especially from some of the albums weve listened to already where the songs are constantly evolving. I really liked the last song What About Me, was a nice unique song to close off the album.
Didnt get time during the day to listen to this. Very busy day of hustle and bustle. Wasnt a very good day, topped off with furnace issues. Luckily I found the right guide and got it fixed. Finally sat down at 10:30 pm and got to listen to this while playing some Elden Ring. Honestly was just the vibe I needed. Started a bit slow in terms of the instrumental but theres something about that organ piano I just love to build tone. Put down my game a couple songs in and started reading lyrics as I listened and was very surprised at how well written these songs were. I really dig the vibe on this, and this would have been the 2nd album where I didnt know anything about the group or any of the songs (Except maybe Long Time Gone?) And it was a great breathe of fresh air but felt familiar to lyrical stylings of the hip or even city and colour

Aw man it lost my review must not have saved. This was a very calming listen for a froday after a stresdful few days. I listened to it during a workout and it was very relaxing. I picked up on a lot of tones that seemed to deal with childbirth. You can hear a heartbeat at the end of the first song for example. Anyways. Icelandic Radiohead, fun listen
First album where I know all the words to at least one song. This was a great album to listen to on the commute. This album is so british it made me want tea. I had forgotten about champagne supernova. Overall a solid album but the 4 stars is mainly for nostalgia. Its such a stereotype but Wonderwall was the first song i learned to play guitar and sign at the same time so thats also a fond memory.
Grunge vibes. I liked the the slow pace of Orange. Reminded me of Matt Reeves Batman. I was jammin oretty good in the car, but as I listened i kept thinking "this is good, but if Im gunna listen to this kind of music Id rather listen to Nirvana" The album switched it up in Everday Should be a Holiday, it sounded a lot more new wave 80's. Didnt love it, didnt hate it
Man within the first 2 seconds you get transformed into Rush world. Probably the most iconic Canadian rock band of all time, with their most successful album. They definitely come out blasting with the early half of the album, but even some of the later tracks I didnt know were very good. They almost didnt play out great listening to them back to back. But yeah easy 5 stars. Absolutely iconic.
Listened to it without wven realizing it was from the 70's. Was probably the foundation of modern techno. It reminded me of Blue Man Group. Alright to listen to, a blast to game to. Especially a game like hotline miami or rocket league
Yeah i dunno man. Beatles just dont do it for me. Wierd thing is i really liked across the universe soundtrack and beatles rock band. But i find their music just not very inspiring, definitely not to their level of success. This album in particular seemed lazy and just belegh.
A good listen while working. Dudes such a sleezeball cringe lord though
Was pretty meh. Sounded like a british randy newman. Never heard an accent come through so much in an artist. The last song was awesome though. Also sounds a lot like the singer from red hot chili peppers and it was super distracting
See now this is what im fuckin talking about. This here is why i wanted to do this project, to find music i never would have found. Great tunes, great instruments. At one point he said "sticking my tongue between those stretch marks" Hell yeah
Nice chill listen. RC broke barriers for his music. Was fun to listen to but dunno if i would seek it out
A fun listen. A bit more polished than the last hendrix album. Short and sweet songs with a lot of flare.
5 is for the artist. My personal favorite rap group of all time. Its not their best album cause there are a couple stinkers, but its also a jazz album so it kinda just goes with the flow.
Kanye in his prime. Somewhere out there is an alternate universe where Nicki Minaj leaned more into a rap career, and Monster is our only evidence of this. What a shame. Love this album though, always did.
Fun classic album, fun and funky beats
Fun album but i never really liked the offspring
Fun album, definitely hear how the police drew inspiration from them
