American Idiot by Green Day
Feb 22 2024

An ambitious effort for a punk band

Be by Common
Feb 28 2024
Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Mar 05 2024

Great album that has moved up into my list of essential jazz albums

Goo by Sonic Youth
Mar 06 2024

Good guitar work and interesting riffs, but overall I found it fairly monotonous to get through

Blur by Blur
Mar 07 2024

Blur started off really good. For me, a great balance between catchy melodies and riffs and some experimental sections. But there were some parts especially in the middle of the album that dragged a bit. I do like Damon Albarn's voice and songwriting. At its best points, it was really good for me. Just wish it could have kept that same momentum. I'd give this a 3.5 if I could

Djam Leelii by Baaba Maal
Mar 08 2024

It was ok, but not great. I actually like the meditative repetitive aspect to the music. But I've heard other albums and artists from west Africa that seemed more engaging to me

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Mar 11 2024

There's not much to be said about this great album. Pop rock at its peak with great songwriting, catchy melodies, harmonies, enough diversity of sounds, but a very cohesive and concise album that achieves exactly what they set out to achieve. Essentially perfection

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Mar 12 2024

A really fun listen. I'm not sure how much replay value it will have for me, but I really enjoyed it. A solid 3.5

Red Dirt Girl by Emmylou Harris
Mar 13 2024

I like her voice. In general I like the style and compositions, but I would give this one about a 3.5 because I have some other artists/albums that I would put above her that are in the same vein

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Mar 14 2024

High energy and a fun listen

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Mar 15 2024

Joni's style is very uniquely her own. Besides having a distinctive voice, the structures, the phrasing, and the vocal melodies are all her style that she created. Engaging storytelling too

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Mar 18 2024

Struggling to decide between 4 stars and 3 stars, so I gusss it's another 3.5. Ella's voice has become synonymous with jazz. If you think of jazz with a vocalist, you're automatically thinking of her voice. It's always a pleasure to listen to her
