Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan
Feb 22 2024

Good album. I’m not a huge Steely fan but there is a good variety of sounds on this. And a number of recognizable hits.

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Feb 23 2024

I like this album a lot. Much better than the albums that followed.

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Feb 28 2024

Surprised how much I liked it. Very Stones-esque. Title track is a banger.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Feb 29 2024

I've listened to this in the past and have a vinyl copy from Third Man Records. Its fantastic. I don't have much exposure to Cash, but you can hear the passion in his performance. I can't imagine what it was like to play in a high-security prison like that.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Mar 01 2024

Well, it has Mrs. Robinson, which is an all-timer. I love S&G, but this album is a little strange. I actually liked the weird at first, but then the songs didn't match the noises.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Mar 02 2024

Its tough for me to rate a jazz album as I don't listen to a lot of it. This was enjoyable, but not to the point where I felt it was vastly different from other albums I've listened to.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Mar 03 2024

No. I listened to it when it came out and I hated it.

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
Mar 04 2024

Had no idea what this was going in, but I really liked it. Was ready to give it 4 stars but the last two tracks kinda fizzled. Some great tunes on here though.

Mar 05 2024

Thinking about giving my first 5 star review. This is an album of pure emotion of all kinds, mixing so many different instruments and song structures effectively. Not to mention some of the all-time classics like Everybody Hurts and Nightswimming. Man on the Moon too.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Mar 06 2024

I consider 3 stars to be a pretty good rating. This one is 3.5. Groundbreaking for its time, but some of it hasn't held up, but a lot has. I get bothered by repetition and rap back then had a ton of it. But its a classic.

Rocks by Aerosmith
Mar 07 2024

I love that 9 songs only take 34 minutes to listen to. Less than 4 minutes per tune! I'd never listened to this album. Starts with Back in the Saddle, which is a rocker. No other huge hits on this one. Combination is an instrumental ROCKER! Why had I never heard it? Only 1 bad tune from what I heard.

Mar 08 2024

Not for me. She has a nice voice, but there's not much to the music.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Mar 09 2024

This is why I wanted to do this. Finding albums like this. Really good. Uplifting deep lyrics. Great voice

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Mar 11 2024

All time classic and only 21 minutes long.

Countdown To Ecstasy by Steely Dan
Mar 13 2024

Fitting since one of the members just passed away. this is a very enjoyable album. Steely Dan is a band that don't really sound like anyone else. Chicago is the closest I can think of.

In Utero by Nirvana
Mar 14 2024

I'm torn between the influence this album had on rock/grunge music at the time and my enjoyment of it today. Its raw, its beautiful, its noisy.

Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
Mar 15 2024

Not my type of music. He's a crooner. Slow, orchestral.

1999 by Prince
Mar 16 2024

It doesn't hold up. It was the early 80's and music wasn't great back then in general. Yes, there are a couple iconic songs on this and I'll give it 3 justfor that, but its not relistenable as an entire album.

Chelsea Girl by Nico
Mar 17 2024

At first i thought i was really going to like this. Then it went on and was just weird. And she doesn't even have a great singing voice. I can see why it was popular in the sixties. I can see a drug culture being into this. Gave up towards the end. Every song sounds the same.

Slanted And Enchanted by Pavement
Mar 18 2024

This is a pretty good album. I think i might like Pavement.

Ocean Rain by Echo And The Bunnymen
Mar 20 2024

Ew. Awful
