Rock 'N Soul
Solomon BurkeCry To Me - a classic! Makes me think of that scene from Dirty Dancing. Great album - easy, cozy listening. Perfect for a slow, sunny Saturday morning. Guy sure does love to shout, though.

What a banger of an album! Funky, chill -- One long song
What a powerful voice packed into short punchy songs. Knew some of the tracks: Tutti Frutti, Long Tall Sally, and etc. Happy to hear some new-to-me deeper cuts.
He always sounds like he's drunk, rushing and stumbling to keep up with the pace of the music. Tried, but sorry Bruce, don't think I'm a fan.
Palatable punk. Whats With Terry has a fantastic guitar riff!
Not the kind of music I usually listen to, but enjoyed it from a nostalgic POV. Definitely sounds unique to the 90s!
It's really too bad U2 committed social suicide, because they're not a bad band.
She's amazing.
Fantastic! I dont think I've listened to this album in its entirety, but glad I now have!
Liked this way more than I thought I would!
I like his sound, I do think it is unique - but I don't know how much of it I can listen to at one time. Couldn't tell the songs apart. Always reminds me of Black Books (which, I googled, and no, he did not make the theme song for it)
I know Leonard Cohen is a Canadian legend but I think I like his songs better when they are covered by other people. It's a little too poetry heavy for my liking. The 80s synth instruments are very heavy handed on this album too...
Boy, country and western music has changed a lot over the years. This was very nice and easy to listen to, would make a good soundtrack to a lazy Saturday morning spend reading with a coffee.
Sorry Nirvana, but I think you need the grungy electric sound back to hide poor playing and off-tune signing. Giving "being held hostage by a white guy with a guitar at a party" vibes. Couldn't get through the album.
I feel at certain times there was too much going on and it just got musically messy, but all of the songs were fun to bop along to at work, so I enjoyed it for the most part.
I could see how this album was influential, but it just sounds messy and loud to me. Parts I did like, but then they became like a joke that went on too long.
Don't really know how I feel about this one. Some of the songs grew on me but it was an odd mix: First half meditation music, second half punk.
Prog classics! And, what romantics, surprisingly! Thought I was going to be in for endless organ solos, but the songs were short and complex. Loved it.
Liked the Y2K sound, but the cheesy faux-spiritual lyrics and overly dramatic orchestral openings to every song got to me by midpoint. All the songs sound the same.
One of my favourite albums of all time. Grew up with my mom playing it in the car often because it was her favourite too. 10/10
Nice to finally listen to this album all the way through. Beautiful, heartfelt songs about the realities of life. While I enjoyed my listen, I don't think I'd seek this album out to listen to casually.
My friend in high school described Muse as "Protest songs about nothing," and while this may be true, it does not stop every song from being a total banger. Takes me right back to the mid 2000s when I was discovering Dr. Who.
Was an unexciting album; just fine to listen to. Confused why it is on this list, what it's importance to music as a whole is -- Felt like I was in a 90s teen movie while listening to it, which was nice.
Recognized the "Please Forgive Me" and "Babylon" song from my childhood but had no idea who sang it. Would I seek out this album, probably not, but listening to it was a nice blast from the past. Feels like this would probably be the answer to an obscure trivia question one day, one that you kick yourself for knowing the song but not knowing anything about it.
Iconic high energy 80s sound. I like the bright, energetic punk vibe but vocals can get a bit annoying. Their hits (Our Lips are Sealed, We've Got the Beat) are good, but I've heard them so many times in movies, on the radio, and on every 1980s playlist that they've become a bit stale. Did like Automatic and You Can't Walk in Your Sleep (If You Can't Sleep). "Can't stop the world, so why let it stop you" 2/5
Very accessible punk. Like that it wasn't too loud and jarring. If you like the Clash, you'll like this album.
Wanted to like it, but was noisy meh.
