taking a 2 stance because this album is the world's biggest 5/10 for me but this site doesn't allow for decimals. I never understood the hype and i don't think i ever will. Made my peace with that.
heard for the first time like 3 days ago, absolutely wonderful stuff. Heavily recommend breakbeat as a genre to indulge in to anyone who resonates with the instrumentals.
7. Its fun
Just heard it today! As a huge fan of other soft machine albums i was pretty excited and while i didn't care much for facelift every other track was fucking AWESOME. Totally deserves the hype it gets, even though i might still prefer their self titled album for how stupidly varied and innovative it is

7 for me but the weirder tracks here pull it over to a 4 star. Really cool album save for every breath you take which i personally consider Police's worst song
more like semen and gay uncle. They have albums i enjoy less (sounds of silence and bridge over troubled waters) but my problem with these guys was always just how forgettable their music was for me, typically rounding up on 'average' at best (which is what this album is for me, ranked below bookends which i felt was atleast more enjoyable.)

HELL YEAHHHHH i still like seeds of love better from them but this is still some of the best work from one of the best groups of the 80s. Hope other people check out their discography more thoroughly after this but even just this album is hit after hit

its a 7 i like it it feels a little preachy at times but its otherwise good. again sadly this website doesnt have half stars so just take this 3 with a grain of salt tbch
