Hejira by Joni Mitchell
May 29 2024

not for me, the lyrics are disjointed and are hard to follow a story. music is nice, soft acoustic guitar which is calming and reminds me of Forrest Gump for some reason. I had a hard time listening to this album and enjoying it.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
May 30 2024

FUCK. YEAH. Heavy bass, slammin drums and righteous idealism. I was surprised by how raw this album sounds 30 years later. So many good memories listening to this album as a youth. Wish I still had that energy, definitely makes me think about my choices as a corporate drone!

Mothership Connection by Parliament
May 31 2024

Horns, synthesizer and funky bass lines. So many classic hits on this album. I remember when Ron got kicked out of the Filmore and the cop pulled his tape. Great album!

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Jun 03 2024

Pop punk, new wave and rock and roll all rolled into one. What a fantastic album. I don't know this one as well as I should. I've listened through twice today, very easy to listen to in detail or let it run in the background.

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Jun 04 2024

bluesy filtered rock, such heavy riffs and drums, I like this album but remember it being more poppy and easy to listen to, there was a lot of noodling

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jun 05 2024

so weird, I feel like you'd have to be on the trip with Bowie to really get deep into this one

Moon Safari by Air
Jun 10 2024

chill background music

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jun 11 2024

"Like James Brown for neurotic Jews" sums Zappa up pretty well. Love the horns, a little too crazy and wild for my tastes to really love it. Good background music.

Quiet Life by Japan
Jun 12 2024

first song had some good energy then it kinda fizzled from there. Felt like a directionless, bland copy of other great 80s bands. Don't want to listen to this one again.

The Beach Boys Today! by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2024

like a 60s version of backstreet boys or n sync - this album really grated on me after the first song or two, the entire thing sounded like one long song

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Jun 14 2024

great album, love the guitar and the vocals bring you back to a time and place that had lots of problems for lots of people. You can hear the influence the blues had on just about every genre that followed and for good reason.

The Score by Fugees
Jun 18 2024

wish they would drop the stupid skits but otherwise a great album with so many bangers, its too bad Lauryn Hill hates white people cuz she's easily the greatest female rapper of all time in my opinion

Murmur by R.E.M.
Jun 19 2024

surprisingly bland kinda throwaway music

Olympia 64 by Jacques Brel
Jun 20 2024

did not listen to whole album, wtf was this??

Jun 21 2024

what a great album, it's fun to listen to with plenty of poppy songs but also a serious artistic album at the same time. I was surprised by how light the instruments really are on some of the songs. I love this album. Reminds me of Dad.

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Jun 24 2024

Not the album I would have expected from Talking Heads but still a pleasant listen on a Friday!

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jun 25 2024

I love this album, so many boppers on it

Mask by Bauhaus
Jun 26 2024

like a poor man's The Smiths I guess?

Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age
Jun 27 2024

I wanted to like this a lot more than I ended up. Some heavy, driving bass lines were fun but I think my lack of nostalgia for this album hurt my rating.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Jun 28 2024

very chill, sounded like the precursor to what we today call singer songwriters? I liked this more than I expected.

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Jul 02 2024

this is getting rough, so many terrible albums

Technique by New Order
Jul 05 2024

skimmed some songs not for me

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Jul 08 2024

Chali2na and Cut Chemist carry this group but still a great album and great memories seeing them live

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Jul 09 2024

One of the best albums of all time, love to see this on the list!

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Jul 11 2024

great album with only a few crazy parts - great morning music

Jul 12 2024

pretty good album overall and I love the west coast sound. I wonder what 2Pac could have been if gangsta rap wasn't the popular thing at the time.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Jul 15 2024

several songs had the girls dancing around being silly this weekend! great album and one I don't listen to enough

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jul 16 2024

I forget how political this album is, still lots of head boppers

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Jul 18 2024

surprisingly chill, decent album!

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Jul 22 2024
Fuzzy by Grant Lee Buffalo
Jul 24 2024
Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Jul 25 2024

I don't know the Flaming Lips that well but this wasn't really what I expected for some reason

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Jul 29 2024

Slow and dark but I like Leonard Cohen in general

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Jul 30 2024

Repeating songs? How is this on the list? Ugh

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Jul 31 2024

I liked this one more than I expected

Fromohio by fIREHOSE
Aug 02 2024

What was this? Terrible singing off-key
