Violent Femmes
Violent FemmesReally stripped down sound for a post punk album, gutsy. Vocals were bad but yet just the right tone for the material, overall I liked it.

Come on it’s the Queen of Soul, when Rock and R/B were fighting for the top of the charts. FYI, just learned today that Whitney Houston’s mother did the incredibly high backing vocals on Ain’t No Way, she passed today at 99, RIP Cissy Houston.
Not a fan of heavy metal but this had a bluesy feel to it, lyrics were good, I have never enjoyed any other Black Sabbath album up until now.
Nope, not my thing!
Not my genre
I haven’t heard this album in such a long time, I was too young to appreciate it then in my twenties, now I just cry when I hear it, finally hear it!
I prefer the older REM, such as this album, to the more famous’90s albums. I really like Stipe’s vocals. Really good!
Really great R/B and soul from the nineties, funky smooth and clean, nice
Wasn’t sold on the album initially, something with the sound and engineering (even though it was remastered around 2010). As I got deeper it grow on my plus Eric Clapton, Layla and the gutsy move to release a double album for their first (and only) record…so
It’s noise…and monotonous, fuck me!
Nothing special for ‘80s rock, engineering pretty good
I like the heavy blues sound, engineering pretty bad, needs a remaster.
A classic Stones albums, as were many in late ‘60s and early ‘70s. A great mix of blues, country, rock, with the remix in the 2000’s, sound is great too!
Boring goth, nothing special from the ‘80s
I like Eno, he has done great sound engineering for some of my favs like Bowie, this album was a bit slow tho.
Yeah, funky hip-hop, a bit jazzy, I like it.
Oh boy, I did not find any comfort in these songs, sorry.
Good production for a puesdo grunge sound, I wouldn’t play it again tho!
The best of both worlds, acoustic and electric Dylan, great lyrics
Beck has some wonderful lyrics and great engineering skills, some of his later stuff is better.
It’s ok, punk and alt, not a fan
Great mixture of genres
There’s no heart and soul.
A really great upbeat trippin’ good time
Love this album, since a kid, it’s raw and heartfelt!
Surprised but enjoyed it, one play only.
Ah, never been a fan of the brothers, average only.
I once told a good friend, when she gave me a Carey CD for Christmas, “I hate this bitch”. Enough said.
Boring, childish, elevator music
Really goovy, motherfucker!
This album, as a kid, terrified me, but now that I can appreciate great music, great composition…now I love it!
Too many religious illusions to work through, like his voice thou
A mix of lots of other bands I more prefer, one and done
Simple, happy music, good harmonies but needed better engineering.
Just not a fan
Love me the reggae with Marley!
Great music, feels fresh still after all these years, good engineering, good
