Great start to an album. Death and guns everywhere. Then some songs get a bit samey and I lose interest in the story telling. Important album as I believe it started to paved the way for outlaw country. Big iron on his hip

The Yes Album by Yes
Oct 10 2024

Dat bass. Not my favourite Yes album, I think it is a bit inconsistent at times. But when it hits, it hits! Yours Is No Disgrace, such a great opener. The lengthier tracks allow them to develop themes and actually come back to them, feeling like they are actually more cohesive pieces than the shorter counterparts. Squire's bass lines are magnificent. Some great catchy bits here.

So by Peter Gabriel

This score was going to be a 3, but the second half of this album is a proper drag. I thought maybe I’d like it this time? I especially enjoyed Red Rain and Don’t Give up. Great musicianship. But when the “world music” influences come in… no thank you. Reminds me of Toto in the worst possible way.

Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield
Oct 17 2024

Mike the prog riff machine. Lots of fun and he was 19 when he made this.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Oct 22 2024

There are some really good tracks here. Some others could’ve done with not being here. If this had been trimmed to a 40min album could’ve possibly been a 5* for me

Kid A by Radiohead
Oct 23 2024

Abstract, complex but engaging the whole way. What a great album. First time you listen to the album you don’t really know where it is taking you, but what a ride!

Punk landmark. Still hitting hard today. I really like how it feels like they are on the verge of a nervous breakdown at all times. This is what punk should be.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Dec 10 2024

Great album. Catch melodies, good riffs and makes you want to get on the car and drive away.

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Dec 18 2024

Some good songs, some less memorable. Like Paul Di Anno’s vocals but nothing hits peak epic like in their later albums. You can see glimpses of it, just not there yet.

Future Days by Can
Dec 19 2024

I don’t know what is going on. I think I am a bit distressed by it. However still sort of fascinated.

Zombie by Fela Kuti

Epic. Ian Gillan sounds horny.

Ten by Pearl Jam
Feb 03 2025

Best grunge band. Best Pearl Jam album. I don’t think there are bad tracks here.

Back In Black by AC/DC
Jul 29 2025

Not the same highs as the Bon Scott era. Great driving album. I’ve been too long, I’m glad to be back… pepepewpew

Aug 01 2025

Will not go back to this. First song, Bob Dylans cover is probably the best.

Live / Dead by Grateful Dead
Aug 13 2025

Meandering but enjoyable

British Steel by Judas Priest
Aug 14 2025

Breaking the law breaking the law dumdumdum Some good tracks, it gets quite samey. Lyrics are pure corny metal. For those that thought Judas Priest was cooler, go listen to Painkiller

Pearl by Janis Joplin

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Aug 20 2025

Grandiose album. It has a way of grabbing you and taking you on a different journey every time you play it.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Aug 22 2025

The riffs, the grooves, the flow. An album that is difficult to sit still to. When I was a young teen I was listening to hip hop quite a bit and then my Dad gave me this album. Changed a lot of things. I had forgotten how many killer riffs are on this album.

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Aug 25 2025

So close to giving this a 5. I don’t think I ever listened to this album from start to finish. It has all the great grunge components and it just delivers.
