Love some stuff happening toward the end of song 1, I’d definitely heard it before
Guinnevere was pretty good
Pre-Road Downs started out as not my fave, but it got very cool toward the end
Wooden Ships is a heater, the musicianship is so good. Guitar especially. Love the bluesy feel
Lady of the island is another treat
Helplessly hoping 👏
After the first few songs this really takes a turn I enjoy
For some reason I want to say the first song is very circusy, which isn’t the case but it’s a lot of noise happening at once. Also brings to mind Mardi Gras. Very communal song.
Track 2 is some Bob Dylan Blues
Vintage Dylan on track 3 (coming from someone who doesn’t listen to Dylan)
I think these songs would be fun to sing, like I totally understand why people do Bob Dylan impressions.
Not a fan of the harmonica most of the time but it’s not bad on this album.
I Want You 👏
Stuck Inside of Mobile little piano got me feeling different
Just Like a Woman 🔥
Love the music in Sweet Marie
Sad-eyed Lady is an epic
I had a feeling I would like this album. And I did, a lot more than I expected, I’m not sure it’s a 5 for me, probably a 4.5 more likely, but it’s hard to ignore an album like this and its impact on all music at the time.
So, being a Radiohead fan I knew this was going to be good. I know from mostly OK Computer forward. I had never really gone to anything before OK Computer, but I did know a lot of these songs just from listening to Radiohead on Spotify and owning a greatest hits album. I’m mad now that I hadn’t gone to it earlier because damn, this is amazing. You can tell the effect this album in particular had on bands like Muse, and to a lesser extent Coldplay.
I love this, how it goes from the noisy jumble to beautiful pieces of composed music, then back into the jumble, weaving in and out of itself perfectly. Not something I’d listen to daily, but this is something I plan to revisit and keep on a rotation when I need something a little different to listen to. I think it’s great. I’ll be checking out more of his work.
This isn’t for me. I respect the blues and all it influenced, but the variety isn’t there for me. I’m sure if you’re super into the blues then it’s great, and I’m glad I got to take the time to listen to it, but it probably won’t be listened to again.
This is alright. The Beastie Boys aren’t the best rappers and are pretty one note with their flow, but damn the production on here is immaculate and really kinda makes the album. It keeps it fresh and interesting even when the flows can’t.
This is a good listen imo. It definitely sounds like a product of its time and I don’t mean that in a bad way at all! It has that late 00’s/early 10’s alt sound about it that I loved at the time. Plus I think Karen O is a great singer.
I enjoyed this honestly a lot more than I expected. I didn’t really know what to expect but it was a fine album. Probably not something I’d go back to but I can see why people love it. Really probably a 3.5. The instrumentation is great.

Didn’t expect to like this as much as I did, but then I realized I recognized most of these Christmas classics and it made me so nostalgic for Christmas car rides with my parents as a child.
I liked this more than I expected to. It still wasn’t super attention grabbing, but the instrumentals were on point in quite a few songs and the instrumental track was probably my favorite on the album.
Pure 70’s disco pop. Not the greatest thing ever but it sure is fun.
I really loved the beats on this, the flows weren’t anything special, but I can respect what it was at the time in regards to a more socially conscious sound in hip hop.
I’m gonna be honest with you, I didn’t listen to the whole thing, it’s like that meme that says “I’m not reading all that. I’m happy for you tho, or sorry that happened” the thing is I’m sure it’s great all the way through but in a normal day to sit aside 3 hours to listen to six discs of music just isn’t going to happen. The songs I listened to were great, but it’s not for me. Obviously Ella Fitzgerald has an iconic voice, but it’s way toooooooooo much.
This is like that tail-end of the nu metal era pop sound that younger me would’ve found incredible in a WWE Smackdown vs Raw game. I didn’t expect it but it was genuinely enjoyable through out, giving it a three cause I found myself not caring to finish (after exiting my car even though I enjoyed it mostly) but forcing myself to.
I liked this! An album as ahead of its time as it is of its time. I expected some 60’s genericness and it wasn’t really there, it was truly a surprising listen.
Her voice is terrible, and after reading the Wikipedia on the album I see why. I think the music is super good but I didn’t enjoy her singing through most of the album pretty much at all.
I knew about this album but had never listened to anything more than the title track. Loved it. Every second. Yes, even the one with the fart sounds. It was just a great album all around and at 36 minutes it never feels like it overstays its welcome even with two songs at about 10 minutes a piece.
I mean come on. It’s a classic for a reason.
I enjoyed it! Not my favorite but definitely up my alley. I think if I listened to it again I’d probably like it even more, but as it stands it’s a 3 for me. But like a heavy, strong 3.
Easy listening just as I expected. I enjoyed almost every song but, there were two songs I definitely didn’t like (Parade and You Didn’t Have To Be So Nice); the kid singing in “You Didn’t Have To Be So Nice” threw me off and kinda just made it sound like a song you’d hear in an episode of Sesame Street. Overall I really liked it and I would throw it on while just having some chill time.
It’s Stevie Wonder, what else needs to be said.
This was the first album that ever got me into Bowie, and it really opened the door for me to him. It will forever be a favorite and the story behind it makes the album that much greater.
It’s a fine album. Nothing great for me personally, I’m definitely a much bigger fan of 70’s soul, but you can’t have that without this. It’s still fun to listen to, just not my personal favorite.
Right off the bat I’m loving this. Super experimental especially for the time. Damn I liked this a lot. I expected not to for some reason, but I’m a sucker for a good concept album. May have to check out more Zappa. The last three songs are pretty wild compared to the rest of the album, I could see those turning some off of it. I can’t decide if it’s a 4 or 5 I’m feeling a heavy 4.5 may end up leaning 5 one day but those last few songs kinda throw it off.
A few songs, I enjoyed but honestly nothing super memorable. It’s gonna get a three cause I could see myself listening to it again with friends and not hating it. Honestly, flows in the 90’s were so wack lmao.
She’s so good, man lmao. Her voice is amazing, but I hate how she has so much vibrato; I know by now it’s her signature style but it can be a bit much for me sometimes. Other than that the songwriting is great and the songs are too. I’ll be replaying this.
I enjoyed this. One of those iconic Bowie albums I’d never listened to. A few really great songs and then a some just ok ones. I want to say it’s in that 3.5-4 star range. Honestly I could listen to it again and it would probably go up.
This is incredible. The Songs, the flows, and the skits are all amazing in their own right. Lauryn Hill is the obvious Superstar, but damn I did not know Wyclef and Pras had it like that!
Good, but not my type of music. Still love how unafraid they are to be political. I understand why people love them.
Signs of good songs here and even a few really good ones, but way too 90’s (which makes sense). I’ll stick with Gorillaz!
Great! I loved it! In fact I went straight back to the beginning when it ended the first time!
Didn’t hit the spot I wanted it to honestly. Yes it was good, but it wasn’t what I wanted I guess. Not as memorable as I would’ve wanted.
Honestly, I just love Radiohead and I love this album. I’ve listened to it times before and I always enjoy it, it’s a 5 from me in my heart but my head knows there’s a few songs that are just a bit ehh, but it’s still a damn good album.
There was a part of me that enjoyed some of this, but it got to the point where I didn’t care to finish it. Kinda drug on and it’s not very long. The comparisons to Bowie write themselves.
It is what it is
