How much harmonica is too much harmonica? This album really takes that question to the limit. Some songs I thought were very strong- but others kind of blended together. I guess I’m just not that into 70s hard rock Best Songs - Simple Man - Things Goin On - Free Bird - Tuesdays gone Worst Song - Mississippi Kid I agree with the rating “Music to empty the bar” to some extent - but I have to give some respect. And even though when I listen to Free Bird all I can think about is that one scene from Kingsmen, it’s still a legendary guitar solo

On the first listen I wasn’t completely sold - but this is really a perfect album - almost each song is a hit for me. I was starting to list the best songs but I put most of the songs on the list.

You can definitively tell he was inspired by soul and funk for this album, but the execution isn’t great in my opinion. I think Bowie has much better albums :) the only track that was genuinely funky was Fame (which is amazing)

This was a hard listen. It feels like it wasn’t all the way finished. I think if the production was better, and maybe the playing at times too, this would be a really great album. Sadly it isn’t. None of the songs could keep my attention for the whole run.

Honestly I didn’t think I’d be into this, but it was a lot easier to listen to and to enjoy than I thought! The songs weren’t too just all over the place. There was a clear vision and execution. This might have been the first album where I thought - this is just a great album. But since I probably wouldn’t listen to this again unless I HAD to choose metal - this is 4 stars for me
