Popular Reviews

You can't deny that this album sounds different. It's competently executed by the band, has some elements of punk and celtic music, but, for me, it sums up like a low budget Jethro Tull. Ok album, but it's not a bunch of songs that I would come back to listen.

Highway to Hell by AC/DC

MASTERPIECE. From top to bottom. It doesn't get any better than this, AC/DC peaked here. Also, Bon Scott>>Brian Johnson. Great production, the instruments sound crisp and rich, the pacing, the groove, there is no single song skippable in here.

Feb 21 2025

Not all songs are remarkable, but all of them are fun to listen to. Short, energetic, kind of falling down the stairs songs, creative riffs, moments of low energy between some songs to recover. An honest good listen. Out of 10, 7,5 with some tranquility.

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Feb 24 2025

60s. Psychedelia. Vocal harmonies. Short songs. Absolutely average album. Good songs, nothing remarkable.

Hotel California by Eagles
Feb 25 2025

Elements of country, 3 incredible songs and the rest are competent, but nothing overwhelming

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Jul 22 2025

Elements of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and even Pink Floyd all over the record, but some songs are too long, bland and monotonous. Seems like they lost the war on drugs... Well executed record though. 5.5/10

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Jul 23 2025

Talking Heads is some kind of hit or miss to me. They have enough songs to fulfill a setlist or a Greatest Hits album, but the studio albuns are kinda meh. This one, for example. Life During Wartime, Heaven and one or two more songs are hits (live, like on Stop Making Sense, BIG hits), but the rest feels like a miss to me. Thin sound, ideas that are different but not enough, etc. Thus, for me, Speaking in Tongues is a far better record.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Jul 24 2025

I've listened to it so many times that I can skip this pat and rate it anyway. FIVE FUCKING STARS. ABSOLUTE BANGER. One of the best albums of all time. There's no bad (even mid) song on this album, although Side A is STELLAR (War Pigs, Paranoid, Planet Caravan and Iron Man, one after the other), being better than Side B. Lucky for me that I had the privilege of seeing this legends (3/4 of them, at least) live twice. RIP Ozzy

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jul 25 2025

Stones at its best. Lots of blues, one of the biggest hits in the history of music, other good songs too, but nothing stellar. The Stones aren't a band of albums, but a band of hits

Jul 28 2025

You can't deny that this album sounds different. It's competently executed by the band, has some elements of punk and celtic music, but, for me, it sums up like a low budget Jethro Tull. Ok album, but it's not a bunch of songs that I would come back to listen.

Queen II by Queen
Jul 29 2025

Another one that I don't have to listen to rate. I've listened at least six times at its entirety and my impression probably will not change. Queen II is an interesting album, mixing the heavy sound of the band's debut with operatic elements that were more refined in Sheer Heart Attack and, especially, A Night at the Opera. Although it suffers from poor mixing (not as much as the debut, of course), there's a extremely rich sound palette to be explored here. I personally recommend the strong start of the album, with Procession, Father to Son and White Queen (As It Began), but the whole record is pretty respectable (with the exception of, maybe, Funny How Love Is, with its endless fadeout)

Jul 30 2025

Great songs for a background music for workout. Some ideas here and there, but it's lengthy and tiring. Could be shortened. As an album, I don't see much. Guess I'm not part of the jilted generation, definetly is not for me.

Fisherman's Blues by The Waterboys
Jul 31 2025

Very, I mean, VERY folky. Way more melancholic (and less diddlydeediddlydoo) than The Pogues. Still not for me

The Band by The Band
Aug 01 2025

Lots of country, vocal harmonies and 'MURICA Way too Yankee for me. And no songs that I'd come back to listen.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Aug 04 2025

Very interesting. The tempo of the songs is similar, but are short, energetic songs. Good for running, actually. And it has Alright, a fucking banger.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Aug 05 2025

This thing vibes. A lot. It has feeling, good songs, it's elegant. Reminds me of a mixture of Sade and Beyoncé. Very positive surprise.

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Aug 06 2025

Here, que are off to a GREAT start. Strange Brew and Sunshine of Your Love are incredible songs. After that, the album kind of enters cruise speed. There are some good and fun songs, like Outside Woman Blues and Tales of Brave Ulysses, and you can see why Cream were so influential and revolutionary for its time. Do I think that this one deserves place on the list? Yes, but it's not even top 200.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Aug 07 2025

An easy listen. Chill good rock album. One of the greatest BANGERS of all time and a couple great standout tracks. 7.8/10

Aug 11 2025

Well... how do I start? Sinatra is huge, Jobim is huge, I'm brazilian and must acknowledge the cultural importance of bossa nova and blah blah blah That being said, this album is monotone and monotonous, just like 95% of bossa nova. Not by chance, it's called samba played by who can't play samba. It lacks dynamics, some shadow and light, a big ending by the orchestra, is quiet and willing to stay out of the way of the wealthy listeners. You can picture that kind of rich businessman who listens to this in the 60's while has his breakfast reading the journal. In other words, like some clever fella reviewed, it has some limp dick energy. Sinatra has a big, loud voice, for jazzy things, not for this. And the Rush version for Girl From Ipanema in the 2002 concert is more fun, even though it was jokingly played.

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Aug 13 2025

I will desconsider the Apple Jam, although it's part of the record as a whole. Even desconsidering it, remains in the 3 star field. Kind of a 6,8/10 album. The vocal harmonies are there, some moments of sheer brilliance, typical of a beatle and etc. But the album is too flat for its duration. Lots of half time ballads, slow bpm, very George Harrison stuff, of course. And EXACTLY for this reason that, in a Beatles album, two or three songs of him would make the cut, balancing the trippy Lennon songs and the fun upbeat McCartney songs. It is a bad album? No, far from that, we have some easy listen quality stuff here, but tiring. Take the strongest cuts and make a single album and All Things Must Past probably would be 4 stars and the best solo album by a beatle. The way it is, kind of comes close, but doesn't overcome Band on the Run (okay, it is a Wings album, but you get the point)

Rejoicing In The Hands by Devendra Banhart
Aug 14 2025

A Nice surprise. Listened to it in a 12k run on a light rain day, which may have influenced my feelings about this album. It has some elements of Nick Drake's Pink Moon, such as the melancholy and the simplicity, but you can also find some pinches of The Doors, especially on There Was The Sun and Insect Eyes Overall, a low to mid 7/10, like 7,4/10

Live / Dead by Grateful Dead
Aug 15 2025

Absolute unlistenable piece of shit. Sounds like ass from top to bottom. Sloppy and unnecessary long (at least, for whom that are sober). Not for nothing the fans of this band are described as a sect. Don't want to listen to this never ever again, even under torture.

Aug 18 2025

You know... Horns, strings, female backing vocals. I can picture the complete experience with this record, listening in a saturday night, savoring an Old Fashioned or a negroni, etc... The Full boomer american way of life experience™ BUT We are in 2026. I must recognize the quality and production, this record is a big product of its time. Furthermore, this album sounds like if Sinatra has the Mojo. But this is too much Sinatra-esque for me. Definitely, the best Ray Charles is the rock and roll Ray Charles. From Mess Around, I've Got a Woman, What'd I Say. Good album, but few remarkable songs. And they are more rock and roll/swing than this big band jazz thing that impregnates the whole record. 3/5, more like a 63/100

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
Aug 25 2025

Good, short, organic, melancholic, folky album. Instruments played live, simple as it can be. Vocal harmonies, pure talent. No quantization, metronome, autotune. Just music, with its inherent and beautiful imperfections. Definitely an album to listen to on headphones or good speakers. That being said, it's a very safe album, with little to none curve balls being thrown. A Simple Desultory Philippic is fun and interesting, and the duality of the last track is noteworthy, but I can't see the reason to this album make into the list. I'm feeling something like a low 6 to a flat 7 on this one. 6,6/10 maybe.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Aug 26 2025

The best album of Bob Marley's catalogue. Looks like a Greatest Hits, but it's a studio album, full of bangers, top to bottom. Only Natural Mystic and the title track are worth the whole album, but side two also has great songs like Three Little Birds and One Love

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Sep 08 2025

It's fun. It's ok. It's groovy and easy. It's 3/5 as fuck.

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Sep 09 2025

MASTERPIECE. From top to bottom. It doesn't get any better than this, AC/DC peaked here. Also, Bon Scott>>Brian Johnson. Great production, the instruments sound crisp and rich, the pacing, the groove, there is no single song skippable in here.

Truth by Jeff Beck
Sep 19 2025

Good album, some great tracks, vocals by Rod Stewart and, obviously, guitar work from Jeff Beck. Something like 68/100, more inclined to three stars out of five.

Machine Head by Deep Purple
Sep 26 2025

Another masterpiece, from top to bottom. One of the greatest of all time.

Revolver by Beatles
Sep 30 2025

There's nothing to say about The Beatles that haven't been said. Masterpiece.

Electric by The Cult
Nov 06 2025

Great album. Nothing revolutionary, just good rock'n roll. Lil' Devil and Love Removal Machine are absolute bangers

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Nov 10 2025

One of the easiest 5 stars given.

Van Halen by Van Halen
Nov 11 2025

Loud, fun and energetic. I don't think, particularly, that this album is so revolutionary as most people say. Also, Van Halen II is better in terms of songwriting.

Nov 13 2025

It's experimental and weird and very Talking Heads-esque. But it has its moments. It's very far from that garbage you find on Metal Machine Music and etc. It's listenable and somewhat interesting. Not a favorite, but ok.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Dec 23 2025

This sh** slaps. Fantastic album. Easy 9,2/10

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Jan 13 2026

I'm kinda suspicious talking about this record, because my band has some ZZ Top in the setlist, including the great opening pair on this album. This two tracks, alongside Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers and, obviously, La Grange, make this album a very solid record. The other six tracks are good, nothing super remarkable, but good tracks. And boy, the 70's ZZ Top is incredible. The dry tones, just drums, bass, guitar and vocals, few to none overdubs. Pure blues and rock and roll album.

Green by R.E.M.
Jan 20 2026

Yeah, another R.E.M. I consider them a Greatest Hits band. You know, there's three GREAT songs in here (Pop Song 89, Orange Crush and, in slightly smaller scale, Stand). Get Up is good as well. Don't get me wrong, there is no objectively BAD songs in here. All of them are well recorded and produced, and they have safe chord choices and etcetera. But man, this is tiring. And depressing. And not for me. 3 out of 5, because of the great songs.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Jan 27 2026

Solid debut. Good mixing, some really good songs. However, 12 songs is a little bit tiring, considering the band's signature style of composition.

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Feb 10 2026

Good sh*t. Like the great Ed Motta said once, the sensation you feel, listening to this album the first time, is equivalent of seeing a pair of boobs for the first time.

Pornography by The Cure
Feb 17 2026

Incredibly ANNOYING music. This is bad in inexplicable levels.

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Feb 18 2026

Yeah, I kind of understand why the yankees like this guy so much. But, considering I'm not one of them, sounds boring and way too MURICAN to me.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Apr 14 2026

Great rock and roll album. Good to listen to in a roadtrip. Not the best of CCR, although. In scale to 10, something about 7,3/10

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Apr 15 2026

Yeah, definitely weaker than I expected. Elvis was a Gretest Hits guy.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Apr 21 2026

This album has its historical value. The 70s sound, although it's a 1969 album, great riffs (or ripoffs, but at least they improved the original ideas), Bonham, JPJ and Page are incredible musicians... and there is Robert Plant. Overrated for sure... good vocalist, mediocre lyricist. All factors considered, it's a solid and heavy blues rock album. 7,8/10

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Apr 27 2026

I swear that I tried, but man, this is bad. I mean, REALLY bad. A bunch of shitty musicians barely capable of keeping time and rhythm, childish melodic ideas. 2/5 because at least the cover is a good t-shirt print

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Apr 28 2026

Classic one. Overhyped, yes, but incredible album. One of, if not THE BEST album by Pink Floyd

The Pleasure Principle by Gary Numan
May 08 2026

In the beginning, you think "this is cool, Kraftwerk-esque but with acoustic drums and bass". By the third or fourth song, you think "I think I heard this before" In the latter half, you think "this is repetitive as fuck, end soon please". And then come Cars, a song that sticks in your head, making the audition a little bit less torturing. Definitely, not for me. I understand the hype and the cult, but didn't enjoy.

The Cars by The Cars
May 11 2026

Good album, with some elements of electronic music, but still very guitar driven. Solid.

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Jun 03 2026

Like cars, the germans did it better (especially Kraftwerk) Definitely, not bad. It's atmospheric and moody and shit, but not exciting.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Jun 08 2026

Heard it recently on vinyl. Still good as ever.

Jun 17 2026

Yeah, just plain NPC music. Not remotely interesting as My Life in the Bush of Ghosts

Low by David Bowie
Jun 24 2026

Masterpiece

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Jul 20 2026

Even though the band wasn't the well-oiled machine we see in Machine Head, we're off to a great start here. Black Night is the outtake single on this one.

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Jul 27 2026

Great album for a workout. The first half (or the "G" side) is incredibly strong, and the ending with Rocket Queen is a masterpiece. The latter half, though, is only good (and I fucking HATE Sweet Child O'Mine, annoying as fuck.
