Black Holes and Revelations
Museexcellent, thank you, i hate what twilight did to you
excellent, thank you, i hate what twilight did to you
after listening to this alk the way through i saw a group of four hipsters on the l train who reminded me of a modern day sgt pepper era beatles
loses a little steam in the final third or so but otherwise Right up my alley
first half lowkey got me wondering what all these 4chan music freaks are on about with this album but the second half starting with sloop john b picks up and was far more impressive imo
honestly i think i just dont vibe as much with west coast hip hop. too bouncy. that said, favorites are endangered species and it's a man's world
all i had really listened to before now was passin me by, but theres a lot more here that rocks! rlly liked pack the pipe and otha fish
appreciate this and its very up my alley but honestly every track kinda sounds the same lol
steely dan king of the fade out. i think this genre (low energy "rock" music) just really isn't for me.
every track sounds the same...
ehhhh i mean i see how its important but kinda boring and everything sounds the same
this is so 90s in the best way. smooth as butter. love the way their voices work together
i liked this better than the other steely dan i have gotten. which is two others which feels insane given only 14 albums have been generated so far!! home at last was my fave. 3.5 but i cant do half stars.
cute little songs (derogatory)
watermelon man was best, but also liked sly. jazz isn't generally my speed but this is a good afternoon sountrack to doing other (slower) things album.
not super my cup of tea. reminds me a bit of mewithoutYou and ajj. liked daniella!
some of these tracks make me feel like im in a montage for a lighthearted 90s rom-com or comedy drama set in nyc. 3.5. birdland really is best
many of these tracks wete quite fun, especially sweat loaf and the o-men. sweat loaf, however, would benefit from the intro skit being its own track. i dont want to have to listen to it every time i hear the song. 3.5
soft and not all that interesting
so much fun! has a certain louisiana jazz sensibility. vicious is very good
faux ~quirky~ and boring! i liked everything means nothing to me
so british....i dont usually listen to music for lyrics, so the rap opera concept album is lost on me. i feel like twenty one pilots loves this.
i liked this a lot. i can see myself listening to this while doing crafts in my home with a candle lit. weirdly cozy?
this seems at first glance like something i would call "soft" but there is a lot going on here that i appreciate and enjoy. first album i felt the urge to listen to twice in a row. especially liked your protector and ragged wood
nice to listen to this album beyond just the meme. that said, nothing especially stood out to me - good or bad. 2.5- incredibly mid
was hoping for more here. had some interesting things going on, nothing that totally Grabbed me though. tracks without singing were superior imo
i liked this more than i thought, which still isn't much. while there is some interesting stuff going on here it overall just feels so dated, like more than 20 years dated. won't be returning to it any time soon.
so so good. always liked pixies but i have a new appreciation for monkey gone to heaven, la la love you, gouge away.
pretty lovely etc etc but the latter half starts to weaken imo. it starts real strong, but the middle section from think for yourself through wait gets a little tired. or maybe i am just a philistine!
i get why this is important but on some of these tracks neil sounds like a muppet fr
certainly funky. i don't hate it by any means but i likely will not return to it any time soon.
joining the chorus of "this would be fine if not for the singer's voice" bc it really is quite unpleasant!
between yesterday and this, a good reminder that this book was compiled by a british man. this is significantly better than the fall, imo. best are chemical world and miss america
yes!!!! this is what the rock opera is all about!!!!
this was nice, easy to listen to
this was fun and very 70s movie soundtrack, which makes sense given it is a movie soundtrack from the 70s. that said, interesting choice for this compendium, and not something i will likely return to
i always appreciate a good live album! and this was pretty solid all things considered, plus this is the Superior version of i want you to want me. no new-to-me tracks grabbed me though
thank you generator gods! i was starting to worry i just dont like music lol. this album is so beautiful to me, and everything flows so well together, such a great execution of theme.
really hard to take this seriously when it starts with that lady, but i did like what it comes down to among others.
bop after bop, hit after hit. however some of the tracks sound like they recycle the same melody. its a good melody, but the same melody nonetheless.
i am not as bothered by the lyrics as others probably because i don't really listen to music for the lyrical meanings. but sometimes it feels like her incredible voice is kinda wasted on the accompaniment which doesn't ever wow me. too many fade outs.
sweet love really did it for me 😌
moments of magnificence that really rocked! but holy shit this does not need to be 2+ hr....it got to be SUCH a chore after like 20min...
cute enough and frank sinatra has a great voice as always but i dont know if i would have thrived back then with this as the most popular music of the era
