Exile On Main Street
The Rolling StonesLove it.
Love it.
It didn’t move me much. Only one playthrough. The title song with its cheeky stutter is infectious and deserving of its classic status. The Who has always been a band I feel I should know more from, a sort of pop culture failing to only know the radio hits. But maybe that’s enough for me after all.
Honestly pretty hard for me to listen to.
I had never heard this before. Absolutely love it.
Love it.
Most of this album seems to be missing from the Spotify link. Had to open up a different album version. I had never heard of Tangerine Dream so went in with no expectations. I would have to be in a certain mood to enjoy ambient music like this. Maybe for a meditation. But in general it bores me, call me unsophisticated.
Love it.
God this is good. I'm learning Oye Como Va on the drums. Five stars for the god of guitars.
Nice.
Hell yeah! Straight rocker cover to cover.
Oh man do I have memories with this album. I would have been 13. Really brings me back to Amarillo. May have been the last time I visited there before I grew up, only returning briefly and for the last time when Dad died. I guess I was playing this shit constantly that summer. What a great album.
OK. I have never heard this classic album. Looking forward to it, as I know Boston influenced the Smashing Pumpkins and I’m sure many other bands of the 80s and 90s I grew up with. I’d like to know them beyond their karaoke staple status. When it came on after my alarm this morning, I thought: What a song for the opening track! Will I know all the others as intimately? I hope to uncover some gems entirely new to me. Well. This album f'n rawks. Just one stone cold classic after the next. Hell yeah, Chicago! I listened to it all day.
I have never heard of this guy. Nice, groovy album. Sort of Beach Boys meets the easy jazz lounge meets the cookout.
What a rocker. Love Asylum.
Pure pop perfection. So many hits. And it has my favorite Prince song! Or is it a Cyndi Lauper song? Who cares, loved this cover to cover several times through.
I think this album is probably pretty mediocre. But I have a strong memory attached to Groove Is in the Heart. And I also love how raw and real her voice sounds, which you don't get on dance music since the advent of autotune. It carries with it power, the imperfections. I wish music would get back to that. But anyway, I will say this album is just fun. Happy lyrics. Good dance vibes. Techno funk to get your ass moving.
I have no idea who The Sonics are. But 1965, I tend to like that era of rock. I find this album boring and the scream gets on my nerves. It starts to sound gimmicky because they overuse it. I’m assuming this was influential to garage rock. Lots of covers. Like the Beatles if they never left the bar in Liverpool. Not a favorite!
Love Bowie. Top 5 Artist.
This was new to me. I enjoyed it.
A favorite. With Harvest Moon.
Fun album. I can dig.
I dug this. More so than I did when it came out. I get the hype now. I used to loathe Leaving Las Vegas. I’m with ya now, Sheryl!
