Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian

I don't think I know any Belle and Sebastian music. I've always had the impression it's twee jingly jangly indie pop and I don't much care for twee jingly jangly indie pop but let's see... Thoughts as I listen... Hate track 1, Stuart's voice is irritating. Not a good start. Track 2 is good, vocals are more bearable here. I like the lyrics. Track 3 is somewhere inbetween 1 and 2. Sort of just washed over me. Track 4 is very 60s, I don't think I'll be able to remember it in 2 tracks time. Track 5 changes it up which was good but is far too long. Track 6 is too long too, why is it so long? I like Track 7. Still not a fan of the vocals, but this is a nice song. Twee but leaning more nostalgic and sweet. Track 8 is back to being grating Track 9 sounds like most other songs from most other 90s bands. Track 10... Is this a Winters Tale cover? Oh wait no, that's just the start. It's now just the same as most of the other songs. Except the parts that sound like A Winters Tale. OK, I think I had the right idea before listening. I'd give it a 2.5 rounded up to 3 here because it's better than a 2.

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
May 12 2025

Never would've listened to this but I love it. So much fun.

Pictures At An Exhibition by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
May 15 2025

My Dad probably loves this. Some songs I did quite like but I often struggle with instrumentals.

Groovin' by The Young Rascals

Black Metal by Venom
May 22 2025

Quite enjoyed it , but found it got a bit too samey. 3.5 stars

I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen
May 23 2025

I already know and love this album, but don't remember the last time I listened all the way through so let's see...

Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Jun 01 2025

I wish I could be cool and say I enjoyed this but I definitely didn't. Ant Man Bee was decent though.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2025

Perfect album. RIP Brian.

Zombie by Fela Kuti

Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
Aug 20 2025

Born Under A Bad Sign and Hotel Room were 2 of my favourite songs when this album first came out. Still love them. There is filler though. It's a 3.5 moving up to a 4 because of those 2 tracks.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Sep 30 2025

The songs I know are great, the album tracks I didn't are... not as good.

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Oct 02 2025

Yeah, I love this. It's great. Hide in your Shell, Rudy and Asylum are the standouts.

Headquarters by The Monkees
Oct 17 2025

Obviously this is hugely derivative. Track 1 is so Revolver it's funny. It can still be enjoyable to listen to though. Probably enjoyed Early Morning Blues, Shades of Grey and Randy Scouse Git the most.

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Dec 28 2025

It's a 3.5, The great songs ARE great but there is a Touch Too Much filler.

...Baby One More Time by Britney Spears
Jan 05 2026

I loved this at 12 years old. Baby One More Time, Crazy (my personal favourite) and Sometimes bump it up to 2 stars but i think the rest was written on someone's dinner break.

Jan 09 2026

I have hated the song Help the Aged since I was 11 years old when it was released as a single. I've consciously avoided it, turning over the tv or radio whenever it started for the last almost 30 years. I finally listened to it today and... It's pretty good actually.

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Jan 13 2026

I know nothing of Joan so Down to Zero, Water With the Wine and Love and Affection were a revelation. Love them. Save Me lost me but Join The Boys brought me back. I'm rating the album 4.5/5.

Jan 22 2026

They distilled the exact kind of country I would hate and served it up in this album. No thanks.

Arc Of A Diver by Steve Winwood
Jan 28 2026

Slowdown Sundown is good. The rest are not for me.

Survivor by Destiny's Child

An extra star for the singles but otherwise this is forgettable rubbish. I bought this album as a teenager when it came out and still didn't remember these other songs.
