Could definitely hear the Bowie. Had a few songs I really enjoyed, but generally not for me.
Love the Talking Heads
Good lyrics, good music, super accessible Bob Dylan.
Hadn’t heard any of the Clash other than one or two big hits, and I was pleasantly surprised by this album. There was so much variety, and it was really interesting hearing 70s punk music and learning the band’s history. Definitely going to check out more of The Clash in the future.
I love Miles Davis
THIS WAS SO GOOD
This album was really cool, but a lot of it felt like background noise and/or pretentious. Still enjoyed listening but probably not something I’ll revisit
There were a few songs I didn’t enjoy, but overall this was great
I think this is an album I would be into if I “got” music more, but at this stage it’s honestly just not something I really enjoyed. Some cool parts, but overall a lot of dissonance and noise and I just had trouble getting into it.
A couple of weak tracks but overall I really enjoyed this and it’ll definitely be one I revisit
I love this album. It was fun and weird and a little goofy in some parts; I’ll absolutely be revisiting it. Lots of strange tracks, especially on the back half, but I enjoyed all of them. I agree with others who have said a lot of the lyrics weren’t especially nuanced, but it didn’t take away substantially from the album for me. I thought hearing the Beach Boys style of arrangement in this new and interesting context was enough to keep me hooked from start to finish.
