Beautiful production and gorgeous lyricism and vocals.
I have always wanted to like The who but just can’t get there even with this live album. You can definitely feel the dynamism of the band and I did enjoy the cover songs.
Always a fun listen. Clever rhymes, inspired samples — a true creative tour de force with such awesome energy between the three Beasties. Love it!
Interesting, layered musicianship and I enjoyed hearing the different influences throughout. Was not familiar with ELO’s sound so this was a nice surprise! And “Jungle” is a banger.
I thoroughly enjoyed this listen - what a voice! In My Bed is a new favourite, and I wish this album had found its way into my life much sooner. It’s hard not to wonder what could have been had her life not ended so early, but the music she left behind is an incredible legacy.
What a brilliant album. No doubt about why it was a smash. So many amazing songs and great production.
Perfectly pleasant listen with nice harmonies and some groovy influences.
Always hear about Brian Eno and how influential he is. A real soundscape here!
I first heard this album the summer before I turned 15. Listening now 30 years later was a trippy experience. Beyond the hits it was good to hear some of the other cuts like Forgiven with fresh ears. The production is crisp and holds up too.
Pure energy and punch! A rip roaring blast of an album that influenced so much of modern music. Can only imagine this live. I had never heard the demo of Baby - what a treat.
“It’s not meant to be a struggle out there.” This album feels like an insulated soundscape. It sounds like new love and the creation of a private, internal world. It reflects the deep understanding of yourself that can emerge when you’re beside someone you love. There are so many secrets, subtle details, and a strong sense of possibility woven throughout. I really enjoyed listening to it.
Smooth as silk. What a voice, what a vibe!
My lucky week getting to listen to two Amy Winehouse albums.
Raw and gritty.
I can’t. I’m sorry. Don’t hate me.
