Popular Reviews

Vulnicura by Björk

I really thought I would be into this. And I think I would be if it weren't a work day and I was tripping or something instead. As with all other Bjork, her accent is tough for me to follow lyrics at times so relying only on beat/melodies, it just wasn't doing it for me. I liked Atom Dance, not much else, but I did add a few other songs to my "weird and wonderful" playlist, which I rarely listen to, but love it for when I'm in a specific mood. For this, it gets 2 instead of 1.

Parachutes by Coldplay
Jun 09 2025

Great album, already knew more songs and added more songs to playlists than I thought I would have.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Jun 10 2025

Really cool album - added multiple songs to my playlists and really liked the production.

Low by David Bowie
Jun 11 2025

Pretty trippy, cool album! Need to listen to it more. Added a few to my instrumental playlist.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Jun 12 2025

Listened to deluxe remaster, not original; like it a lot and it reminds me of 80s rock in the best way

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2025

What a beautiful album. I’m not sure how much I will go back to it, but I loved it and want to hear more from The Beach Boys overall.

Metal Box by Public Image Ltd.
Jun 18 2025

I liked it more than I thought I would - several songs were standouts. I'm not sure how often I would listen to it though. Wish I could do a half star, although I think it is closer to 3 than 4 for me.

Happy Sad by Tim Buckley
Jun 19 2025

Kind of trippy, kind of cool. I really liked this album; had never heard any of it before.

Vulnicura by Björk

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jun 21 2025

It was great, but I didn't just immediately love it as I was expecting like I love Janis Joplin's solo albums. Also, I had heard most of the songs from their live albums before, so there were no surprises, really, which is my favorite part about slogging through this challenge.

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Jun 23 2025

Trippy and good!

Tommy by The Who
Jun 24 2025
Rejoicing In The Hands by Devendra Banhart
Jun 25 2025

It's a beautiful album overall, I think but I'm not going to return to it often. I did insert it into a playlist I have that is mostly instrumental music, since it felt like it fit there.

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Jun 28 2025
Mothership Connection by Parliament
Jun 29 2025

What a party! I loved it. I was working while listening, so I’ll probably want to hear it again some time and may want to rerate.

All Directions by The Temptations
Jun 30 2025

Just such a vibe will def pick up the album to listen to again. I loved every song , and I’m not even usually all that into R&B

1999 by Prince
Jul 01 2025

fun, party album - added more songs to my library than I thought I would. It's a classic!

Jul 02 2025

Such a good album - probably 4.5 stars vs 5 but it was better than some I’ve rated 4 on here already.

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Jul 03 2025

Hard one to rate - probably actually a 3.5 but that's not an option. The beats were a vibe though.

Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits
Jul 04 2025

Weird album; hard to get through. I think since it's apparently part of a trilogy album set, the other two would make it make more sense? 1.5 Tom Waits has much better music.

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Jul 05 2025

I fucking loved this album. Just so easy to vibe with. Probably not all the way to a 5, but above a 4. Maybe.

E.V.O.L. by Sonic Youth
Jul 06 2025

Loved it; amazing from start to finish.

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Jul 07 2025

Liked it more than I thought it would, and I should probably listen one more time since I missed a few songs while I had to take a call at work. and one song kinda sounded racist, but maybe I didn't hear it correctly. I'm not into that. Sticking with 2 for now I guess.

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Jul 08 2025

Just good elevator jazz. Not much more to say here.

Another Green World by Brian Eno
Jul 09 2025

Loved it so much more than I anticipated from the genre. Great one to listen to as I was working. Lots of really cool beats. I bet a lot of people really hate this though.

The Bends by Radiohead
Jul 13 2025

Really good album, but a little bit of a slog to get through in the middle in there. It will probably improve for me on a second listen. Added 7 of 12 songs to my brit rock playlist.
