Great stuff funny energetic

Good lyrics interesting but I just don’t really like it

I really tried. I thought I'd come to it with fresh ears and none of the baggage with which I first dismissed it, but alas.... I think my major problem is that they are obviously quite accomplished musicians but they just don't groove. Take the bass playing on Rio - it's sort of flashy, but it's also shit! I find his voice over processed and whiney, some of the lyrics are sort of funny, but overall the songwriting is so pedestrian. 'Save a prayer' is a particular bugbear. A horrible dirge. Add to the mix some of the most horrible sax playing from an era of horrible sax playing and you end up with something iconic only for being an emblem of shallowness of its era! If you want good 80's pop that really has survived the test of time listen to Human League.....

They are a funny old mix The big ones are great love em being part of my teens I can’t really judge them. Everybody wants to rule is favourite. The slow experimental stuff starts off kind of interesting then not sure where they going But I like them there wholesome. I’ll go with a 2/ 2.5

I think there fun, very Rimbaud. I’m glad they exist nothing manufactured about them. I love the album cover heroine chic

Bit warbly in places but she is amazing, brilliant musician, and old songs are like source material

Am finding Mingus a tad minging No it’s interesting just hard work in places you’ve got to actually listen

Love them it’s a unique sound the greats and that voice such a mix of influences very original

I didn’t like them back in the day but it gets better with age still vital

It’s electric the atmosphere crackles, and America surprises me. The authorities allowed this concert to happen knowing what Johnny cash is about it’s fascinating. Surprised they didn’t riot

I Liked the first song after that umm

I know there an important band but don’t know there work, it’s very good it’s more a way of working, like some process they have to go through as do we as listener. they’re doing something brilliant
