Destroy Rock & Roll
MyloA decent album. Definitely not anything mind blowing for me, but it was decent background music and was inoffensive. Not bad but I probably won’t revisit this album anytime soon.

First three songs sounded very similar, fourth track “The Heathen” has some interesting sounds. Title track is a nice change of pace while still keeping the consistent sound. Jamming is of course a classic and is an album highlight. The rest of the album was great and I was finally able to cross off a bucket list album.
Very funky, as someone who only knew the Isley’s as “the guys who did Twist and Shout before the Beatles” this was a pleasant introduction that I’m sure I will come back to again.
Very beautiful album, I enjoy the jazzy instrumentals that are paired with the emotional vocals. This album really impressed me!
This album is one of my personal favorites. In my opinion it’s one of the greatest debuts of all time. The tracklist from Once to Porch is one of the greatest runs in history for me. While it does fall off a little bit after porch, that just means the tracks are less amazing than the previous ones. My one gripe about the album is the mix, however, I just listen to the Brendan O Brien mix if I want to listen to this album.
A very influential album. A very consistent sounding record thanks in part to the great, unique songwriting as well as the stellar production from Steve Albini. Standout track is without a doubt “Where is my Mind?” However the rest of the songs hold their own to make one of the most influential albums of the 80’s.
Definitely a vibe record that can fit a rainy day, however not something I found particularly enjoyable.
I was actually decently impressed with this album. I used to be heavily into Elvis when I was a little kid (I owned his greatest hits on vinyl and two beatles records so I know the hits front to back) however I had never sat down and listened to an Elvis record. Simply because I expected it to be one or two hit singles and a bunch of filler. However this album was surprisingly consistent for an album that came out in the pre-pet sounds, pre-sgt. pepper’s world. I’m giving this record a 4 mainly because of the influence it had on the generation that would go on to define classic rock radio, but also because this record was genuinely entertaining and not as much of a one trick pony as I expected. Great record, would love to revisit again.
A very raw (pun intended) recorded that clearly laid the groundwork for punk rock to burst into the music scene a few years later. People like Henry Rollins and David Bowie have always sung Iggy’s praises and now I know why. Excellent record.
WOW! What an amazing album, I’m almost speechless. 5/5 best album I’ve heard on my journey so far.
A delightful journey into the world of funk that I enjoyed just as much as I thought I did. For a band that (in the public consciousness) is mainly known for singles, they sure could make a consistent record.
Pretty good album, even if it is carried by its singles a tiny bit.
Not a bad record, just one that bored me to death
My favorite Queen record. It’s kinda prog kinda metal and while people peg Queen as a singles band this is definitely an album worth your time in its entirety
R.I.P. Ozzy!!! This is my favorite Sabbath record it has some killer artwork as well. Obviously I’m a little biased given the circumstances but this record would’ve gotten a five even if I was going through this website in the 90’s. A killer record that’s weakest point is a one minute interlude that only takes away a bit of the atmosphere. 5/5 one of the best records given to me so far and god bless Ozzy Osbourne!
A pretty good record. This is one of Bowie’s most revered records. While I do respect it’s ingenuity and originality I find the first half to be inferior to Heroes, however I find the second ambient half of the record to be amazing. 4/5.
Wow! A slow burner of a record. Something very unique that I will revisit soon.
A super unique listen. While it didn’t resonate with me as much as it has with others I respect it’s brilliance.
A really influential album that blew my expectations out of the water. This album is the blueprint for what was to come from 80’s metal (especially in the underground) of course Black Metal took a lot of inspiration from Venom and specifically this album and I can see where Slayer got their early sound and whammy crazed solos. Amazing album!
A fine album. I enjoyed it a decent amount although I have gotten more enjoyment out of other records from Fela Kuti such Afrodisiac.
A fun way of revisiting Metallica’s classic tracks. While there are flaws (mainly the bad use of Autotune on James’ voice) it is an enjoyable experience. That being said I don’t think this should be on here over something like …And Justice for All, Ride the Lightning, or even something not from Metallica like Blizzard of Ozz. This is more of a Metallica completionists record than it is an average music fan record. That being said it is still really good.
A really solid album. Took some interesting influences and when it gets heavy, it’s some of the best riffage I’ve heard. Great album 5/5
Great record that was fun to revisit after a mediocre first impression.
