Bongo Rock
Incredible Bongo BandI enjoyed it to start with, but like most people are saying it's a bit much to sit down and listen to in one go. I know the whole idea is BONGOS BONGOS BONGOS!!! But yeah... perhaps a few bongos too many.

I liked it! Not normally the kind of stuff I'd listen to but it was pretty cool. 'Candy Says' and 'What goes on' were my favourites. 'The Murder Mystery' was an odd but fun song, even found myself going back to listen to that a few times.
Only knew 'More Than a Feeling' beforehand but really enjoyed this album! 'Peace of Mind' has become a new favourite.
Honestly, not my kind of music. It was definitely funky, and 'Under the Bridge' was my favourite, but it was my favourite of a bad bunch... I probably won't even listen to that again! This album has been my first major flop during my journey of 1001 albums! :(
Generally a nice album. My faves were 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road', 'Candle in The Wind', and 'Grey Seal'. 17 Elton John songs in a day was a bit of a challenge though I must admit, his hyper energy style of music doesn't always fit the mood!
Pretty enjoyable, but all fairly samey. Don't get me wrong I love a bit of funk/ soul but it wasn't mind blowing. All the songs kinda blurred into 1 by the end, and the only standout one to me was the very first one.
Great album! Have surprisingly never actually listened to an ABBA album in full. Arrival is full of both songs I've heard many times, and new ones to me. I especially liked 'Arrival' as I didn't know they'd ever done instrumentals before.
I love feeling angsty on a Monday work morning... Yeah not quite the music I needed yesterday. Not really my taste in general. I somewhat enjoyed the sound of a few of these songs but overall the mood and tone just isn't what I gravitate towards. I did enjoy the ending section of 'Where I End You Begin', that's about it.
So this is the second time I've been given this album now, and upon another listen I'm moving it from 3 stars to 4, I really do quite like it! A few of the tracks I forget exist in the middle but a lot of them all standout to me.
Started this album when I was making my breakfast and morning coffee yesterday, and wow! Being smacked in the face with the opening chords of Supervixen made me realise quickly I was gonna like this song. As for the rest of the album, I thought it was pretty fun, however this is a type of music that I just know I wouldn't have come across had I not been doing the 1001 challenge. Other standouts for me were 'Not My Idea', 'Stupid Girl', and 'Milk'. Will definitely listen to these again.
Okay this was a weird album, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't quite enjoy it. It bounced around all over the place but never slowed down, 'Gut feeling' was a standout for me, 'Shrivel Up' was strange as hell but I really liked it's bubbly yet menacing sound. I'm definitely going to have to give this album a 2nd listen as I don't remember every song but just know I enjoyed most of them being on in the background!
I'm usually a fairly big lover of a lot of older country songs/ artists, but this album really didn't leave much of an impression on me. I feel it may have to be one I revisit and pay more attention to next time. I did enjoy it, it definitely wasn't bad, but without giving it more attention a lot of it blended together for me.
Too edgy...
Another pretty decent Rock album on here, 80s rock (or rock in general really) just isn't my thing though, or at least not often. I enjoyed it and it was a fun listen but I doubt I'll revisit many of it's songs. Was by no means a bad album though!
Struggled between giving this a 2 or a 3... This was a smooooth album and it sounded really nice, I'm not typically a hip-hop guy but I can't deny it was a good sound, however... The lyrics and themes just do not work for me. Sounds like it was written by a high school lad that still thinks drugs and sex are the peak of existence.
A really decent album. And I am a sucker for this era of country though it was very cliche sounding, lyrics and all. All in all, nothing too standout-ish but was an enjoyable listen. May listen again, may not, who knows? Not I!
Fun album! Not every song was a hit but as I've said before, rock isn't always my thing. The good stuff was really good though, nothing really bad in there, just some songs I didn't really care for.
As someone who is really not a Hip-Hop guy, I absolutely loved this. The lyrics, the sound. The gameshow theme that ran through the album. This felt like a bunch of guys just having fun and making whatever the hell they wanted. Put me in a good mood!
I enjoyed this, as far as talking heads go it wasn't my favourite, but it was still enjoyable. I think I need to give it another listen to judge it better though.
My first 1!
Thought this was really fun! Giving it a 3 because it's not usually my type of music, but this is an album I'd be happy revisiting!
This was one of the most grating things I've ever listened to. Skipped the last two songs, and honestly after you've heard the first song you've basically heard them all...
I loved this. Didn't know what to expect going into this but as it went on I just kept liking it more. The classical Latin style mixed with that late 90s synth worked really well! Was quite unlike anything I've heard in a while.
This was alright, feel l won't revisit but I can appreciate what it was, to be honest I can't really remember much about it other than it was angelic? Possibly...
Some absolutely bangers on this! Didn't think I'd be a fan but made my train journey home very enjoyable!
Enjoyed it, liked the sort of story it told throughout the album.
This album was alright, I loved the low key feel it had but on a 2nd listen it was kind of boring and very monotonous. Wasn't awful though.
Not really my thing but was still fun to listen to, at least it was short and sweet and didn't overstay it's welcome.
I liked the first few songs but, tbh this is kinda of dreary!
