Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret
Soft CellRad as hell. I like "Youth" a lot, got that 80s futurism and a melancholy, haunting feeling and that transition into "Sex Dwarf"!! "Sex Dwarf" + "Entertain Me" are SO good.

purchased immediately. great
London Calling, Hateful
sultans of swing + down the waterline
nice vibes. sometimes funky, wistful, happy, folksy. nice flutes
I like ceiling fan in my spoon. fine
very good. awesome that its at a prison.
really unique and enjoyable
Some really unique, funky bits. album art is cool but does not match the sound mood imo. love we walk, west of the fields
super groovy. get innocuous, time to get away, north american scum!! us and them. really really good. read all the pamphlets! sound of silver lol. New york rocks. purchased on finishing.
didn't leave huge impression, but i might not have been in the mood. slower and more pensive
not something I'd usually listen to which makes me pleasantly surprised. its funky/groovy, smooth. never heard of acid jazz. the synth goes like zweeoo wohmp wohmp.
Listened to this album for the first time a couple months ago in light of US current events. Listening this time around I can't believe I didn't know the context of the album cover and it makes perfect sense. Love de la Rocha's growling scream. absolutely love.
Some nice guitar solos. Blues/rock, laid back groovy bops. ended up just sampling the second half, medicated goo is one of the better ones but overall eh.
generally enjoyable. feels like I'm not always getting it, kind of weird sometimes. Reminds me at times of film soundtracks, creating scenes and moods. opening track is pretty atmospheric. sad skinhead is groovy. giggy smile's pretty groovy and gets better as it goes on. Lauft is fun. Jennifer is really nice. I don't exactly know what to make of this, it's generally enjoyable but very hard to parse.
At first I just had it on as background and I hated it, but I decided to restart and try again when I got to Hot Wire My Heart because I did kind of like it. On the second listen I realized some of these tracks actually fuck severely if you give them a chance and pay attention.
Generally good, I don't have much to say about it though.
BWAOWP BWAOWP. Layin down that groove. funky as hell. That "TIMBAA" in Africa talks to you! I am not super familiar with this genre but the wiki has a lot of great info on the album+band's context. I didn't realize I knew some of the songs just through pop culture growing up. I like the context of the earlier 60s stuff being more positive and this album being a shift into a disillusioned 70s. The final track is a slowed down version of the original "Thank you for lettin me be myself," the effect is like. A descent into dark funky madness.
gives a kind of cool, smooth blues feel. whole thing is generally too sleepy for my taste but I'm glad to have given it a listen.
She does command respect. Great R&B.
mixed bag for me. I didn't think the first couple songs were anything special. "I'm Not Your Steppin Stone," "There She Goes," "All I Really Need Is You", "Take a Look at Yourself" are the better ones. "Melody for an Unknown Girl" was painful. Really they just sound a lot like the Beatles and the Beach Boys.
don't have a lot to say about it, generally enjoyable, can get tedious after a bit. Turner's vocals are amazing though.

First of all, I hate this. Entirely putting aside the arguments about negatively influencing children, I hate it because it's got that "haha just kidding" shit that inspires the most insufferable so-called humor coming out of dudebros at the bar. I think the outrage I feel is mirrored back at me. These fucked up, angry, cruel, gross lyrics are coming out of impoverished, abandoned communities that live in survival mode. It's flipping off the hypocrisy of the rich and the lack of solidarity from the middle class. There's a lot of pain, violence, and cruelty that festers in poor communities and I think Eminem reflects that. At the end of the day, I find it to be artistically impressive but immature and repulsive. Glad to have listened to it for the music education aspect though.
I haaaaate this. "Buick Mackane" and "Chariot Choogle" are the only decent tracks. I kept listening for music education value but I couldn't wait for it to end. Very surprised by the positive reception here because I found this to be boring and irritating.
Really nice and smooth. More chill and pensive than I go for generally but it was cool and low key synth-y rock.
not what I usually listen to but very cool, bluesy, growly. love the instruments.
well done. Did not enjoy the first side so much, enjoyed the rest of it more. Very unique sounds and generally a very good album. Rating would be higher if "Marlene" and "Slut" hadn't left a bad taste in my mouth. Regarding "Marlene", because many people still do not get this: Minor girls and women into their early twenties are manipulated and targeted by men with more experience and resources than they have. If you're a 24 year old man, a 17 year old girl will find you more impressive than a 24 year old woman will. Age gaps are more significant the younger the people involved are. I'm going to keep calling this out. "Slut" is just. Kind of lazy and irritating.
Groovy and funky as hell. Did not enjoy as much as There's a Riot Goin' On, but still very good.
TVC15!
I was only familiar with the opening track, but really enjoyed the rest of it. very solid
Wow! Delightfully unpleasant. Weird as hell. I hated it and will never listen to it again but it was delightfully insane and I can see its influence.
I was really expecting to hate it so I'm surprised. very harsh, loud, weird and bizarre, but also listenable.
Don't mind it at all, pleasant for casual listening. Not anything I'm going out of my way to listen to but I can appreciate it.
I'd completely forgotten about Birdland, took me straight back to high school jazz band. So glad to come across this and listen to the whole thing!
