1001 Albums Summary

Move was the only track that I listened to completely. Too bad the album wasn't more like that.

Some great songs and some very passable songs

It has some good hooks, but it's a product of it's time. Like protest albums from the late 60s, it has an element that feels dated. Some applaud political statements. But overt sentiments anchor the songs in a in an era most don't even think of anymore.

Some really good songs and some filler. Laughing and What are their names were standout tracks.

Although the hits can be tiresome, they're still great songs. One of the best debut albums ever.

This is a great album even with all the covers. Redding makes them his own. I've been loving you too long is often cited as the can't miss song. For me it's Change Gonna Come.

Sounds a little dated but it's still a phenomenal album. What Tom Scholz accomplishes is still amazing

I remember when this came out. It's not a bad album but it's too much of a clone of Metallicas sound at the time.

Yawn. A few good tracks

Some very dated sounds with lots of fuzz and repetitive drumming. I still like Only Happy when it Rains and A Stroke of Luck. Other highlights Vow, Fix Me Now. Would give it a 3.5 if the ranking system had halves.

This album has zero dynamics. I suppose it has an audience somewhere, just not here.

It's an interesting listen. I was not familiar with Slade other than through covers. Sounds like it was highly influenced by the original Alice Cooper band. No idea if the two bands had any connection.
