1001 Albums Summary

People's Party- Sentiment hits quite hard, personal Car on the Hill- Instrumentation is great, really highlights how the album "feels". Mixed with a lot of space, feels like more moving parts than there are. Down to You- Another sentimental one, themes of love, longing, melancholic self talk and stories "externalized" very prominent on the album. Stopped thinking and just listened. Good album, plan to revisit.

First though 50 seconds in, "Female Nick Cave? No... Iggy Pop? No..." Punk, but art-y. Mix feels strange, a bit harsh, lots of treble, hardly any low end. Not terribly unpleasant though. Gloria 6/10 Redondo Beach 5/10 Birdland skipped Free Money 8/10 Kimberly 7/10 I can stop here I think. This album is everything that I like in concept. On actual listening though, I don't enjoy it, other than for it's craft and tone. I just don't like listening to it.

Fist listen all the way through. Very good.

closer to a 2 but that seems unfair, may not have listened at the right time or in the right headspace. it's fine. its boring. it does exactly what it sets out to do well and its not my taste
