Vulnicura
BjörkDidn’t make it through 5 songs, it was all too familiar and samey. I enjoyed that it was atmospheric.

Tina Weymouth: I owe you an apology. I wasn’t familiar with your game. 🔥 Music wise: fine. Trebly-rhythmic guitar got to be a bit too much. Not much interesting going on with drums. Not a fan of the vocals. I’m not a lyrics guy, can’t really comment on that. The “take me to the river” cover was really fun. Seemed a groovy side-step from their main vibe that really fit. Really liked the closing song country/slide guitar vibe. I think I most enjoyed the stuff that was a bit of a departure from their main “sound.”
Fine. That’s about all I have to say. There’s one song that was really groovy but the drummer does some weird backbeat thing, truly baffling and completely ruined the song.
Nothing really stood out. Not my jam.
Some of these tunes are imprinted on my souls. Ramble On is a masterpiece. The non-radio hits were fun but fine.
Not my jam, didn’t make it half way through the album.
Really fun.
This was so fun, very glad I listened to it. It’s not my jam and I didn’t love all the vocals, but the beats were undeniable.
Rio: banger. Bassist is on fire. Obviously familiar with Hungry Like the Wolf. None of this made me “feel” anything. In general, lyrics do nothing for me. If I wanted to enjoy poetry I’d just read it. When I’m listening to music I want something that is interesting musically (be it instrumentally or rhythmically or melodically) or makes me feel something. This album does neither, aside from tapping my foot and appreciating the bass work. There’s no journey, no emotional build-ups, just straightforward, driving, and consistent. Both stars are for John Taylor, who I just found out I share a birthday with. It’s fate that I became a bass player.
Not interesting at all. No builds. Some riffs or beats are cool but no changes just drives me to boredom.
River Song is a masterpiece The rest: pretty meh. Some cool compositions, very beautiful and moving at times. Just couldn’t keep my attention or interest.
Didn't listen, not for me.
Didn't listen. Not my jam.
I have an affinity for U2, turns out it's mostly for their pre-this album offerings. Couple classic "ballads" on this one, but the upbeat, pre-wacky-electronic stuff is bland. I wonder what the direction of the music was for this. Turns out, fine but not great. I wonder what sort of music The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen could pull off without Bono.
Gave it a couple songs, wasn't for me.
Couple radio hit bangers. If they weren't played daily on the radio while I was growing up I probably wouldn't have been able to pick them out of the album as their "hits."
Made it through 2 or 3 songs before turning it off. Really not my jam. Drums, guitar, all of it was just bad.
Great beats, loved the vibe. Vocals weren’t my thing.
Fun, nothing musically or lyrically interesting.
Fine *shrug* but I can sure see what Joe Dart and Michael League are talking about when they say they learned bass listening to Wonder's left hand. That thing is possessed.
Got through one song. Top 1001 albums of all time? listen to before I die? Nope.
This is really fun! But is it is a “NEED TO LISTEN TO THIS BEFORE YOU DIE?” Don’t think so.
I'm not even done listening to the album and it's getting a 5. This is perfect top to bottom. What a masterpiece.
Well, this came out of fucking nowhere. Wow it was so good. Will need a few more listens, but I immediately saved a couple songs to my high-play "Bangers" playlist and was grooving HARD to a few songs.
Was not my jam. I listened through about half of it. Don't think it's great background listening. Nothing musical or lyrically or melodically kept my interest, aside from the "annoying" sections.
Not even going to listen
I just can't connect with Bowie's singing style. I wonder if I'd enjoy it if the backing band had a vocalist whose voice I enjoyed.
