Huge number of ideas crammed into very very short songs. Songs about a minute long with rhythm changes part way through.

Classic album. Singles all outstanding. I’d forgotten about the slurs in I Want My MTV

Absolute classic. Extraordinarily tight for a live album. Genius at work.

Not my genre. Hell of a voice though.

Cecilia Ann, Velouria and Dig for Fire are great tracks

Very mid 70s soft rock. It’s only Reelin’ in the Years that keeps it above 1 star. Otherwise it’s elevator music.

A good but minor album. It’s interesting to listen to because of the band that Dire Straits would grow into.

I haven’t listened to this album since 1995. The horn section made me thinking of it as ska, but listening now it feels more like west coast Punk. Nothing on the album is as good as On a Rope.

Excellent album but overlong

Fairly unremarkable. Good background music but nothing that pulls you in.

Very familiar with the singles but not heard anything else. The other tracks were ok.

Sweet album

Excellent album - made we want to listen to all of the albums by The Police

On the one hand it’s a superior but of mid 80s pop. On the other the arrangements and production is avant garde.

An essential band but not an essential album

No better than ok. Forgettable.

The singles are strong, rhythm and hook, the flow is strong but there’s only so much hyper-masculine posturing before everything turns camp.

Ethereal. Beautiful. A little too long.

Feels less like a double album and more like two albums jammed together randomly. The Love Below is the better of the two - more ambitious and has the standout single in Hey Ya. TLB = 3, Speakerbox is a 2.

OK easy listening country album I guess. Did not live up to its reputation. Did I miss something?

Single Paper Planes is excellent. Nothing else gets as good, but interesting and eclectic.

Well, my shoes have been thoroughly gazed at and I didn’t entirely enjoy it. Bonus point for some of it being in French

Dre beat Drew Wallace. Dre gets no stars.

Insipid - you can hear the influence on Shania Twain - it’s obviously an influential album - but minutes later I’d forgotten every track.
