1001 Albums Summary

Peak Michael Jackson. Couple of dull songs made up for by multiple greatest hits.

Can appreciate the musical aspect of this album but can't say its really for me. Feel like I need a bottle of red wine in a basement club somewhere to fully enjoy it. Don't think I would listen again and no playlist additions. But on the plus side it will likely be part of a small amount of albums I was able to read my book at the same time.

I had heard of this band but wouldn't have been able to name a song. Can't see that changing. Recognised a song though ......... I think. Bit dreary and depressing for me, the song about giving money to the church was intriguing. Not sure what the rest of them were about. Was ready for it to finish but it’s not awful so 2 stars.

For one reason or another I can’t say I have really sat down and listened to Jimi Hendrix, I know the big tracks of course. Had a lot of fun with this album and will definitely play again to see if it was the novelty effect but right now 4 stars.

Enjoyable. Nice enough album and added a couple to the playlist. She definately was a talented singer but of course not the most manly album to be rocking out too.

Bring back Bill Evan’s

They can definately play that is for sure. Didn’t quite connect with me to get a higher score but enjoyed it and will explore a bit more of their music.

I don’t know what to say about this one. Bit disappointed. Strange album although not entirely sure what I was expecting.

Again not really feeling it. Picked up a little bit towards the end but I just don’t know who would have this in there list of favourite albums.

Knew of Depeche mode but couldn’t name a song. I mean it’s not really for me to be honest but I don’t think it deserves a 2, unique and has a good sound if a little depressing.

Album started and I thought here we go. Got worse and worse picked up by one other good song.

If I had listened to it at the time I think I would have liked it more. Doesn’t really age well. Having said that was enjoyable or maybe a much needed pick up from what we have had.

Nice little vibe to it at times but a bit boring and wouldn’t go back and listen again.

Two big songs but let down by a very average rest of the album.

Couple of decent songs, album does feel very similar. Was likely quite good at the time but not sure it’s aged well.

I really wanted to give this stars just for the guitar playing. A fine player. But songs aren’t really memorable.

Not a bad album at all. Enjoyed it. Couple of very popular ones to sing along to as well

Nice voice but was a bit slow, maybe a bit more tempo I would have got into it more. Don’t think she deserves 1 star though.

What an album cover. One highlight song and then just your usual stuff from that period. Prob alright to hear live.

Prefer the style in Bad but another top album with some classics. Ideally would have been a 4.5.

The actual music ain’t bad. Singing awful.

Not really for me but has some nice tones to it. Don’t really see any reason for the length of the songs though.

Two bangers. 1 very good and then some strange.

A few more classics and just generally a good vibe album.

Had a good sound to it, not quite my genre but enjoyed it.

Considering this only had 1 of the big hits (debate for two actually)I really enjoyed this album.

Have to say this feels ahead of its time for 1975 and I can understand why this is on the 100 list according to Apple. Just doesn’t quite get me going.

The group that created this 1001 list, it’s becoming clear they were drinking and smoking and likely more, somehow made it a thing! Don’t quite deserve a 1 though.

When it started I thought what the hell is this. By the end I had a good time with this album.

Two tracks I knew of and enjoyed but overall I’m not sure the music style is for me.

Genre changing Album that had an effect on millions of people. I’m a Stan!
