makes me wish I was alive in the 80s so I could have experienced the clubbing scene

Harvest by Neil Young
Nov 06 2025

Very chill while still dramatic somehow? First time really listening to Neil (other than his hits). Think I prefer something more chaotic, but it's nice. Fall vibes. I admit though, Old Man is a classic for a reason (as a Canadian I should show him at least a little appreciation). Nvm, the second half of the album is lowkey redeeming it a little for me... fave = Words I think he's a good musician and it's a decent album that's worth listening to, but not really my taste, too cowboy-esque. Maybe I will try re-listening in the future tho :)

OK Computer by Radiohead
Nov 07 2025

For a while I have neglected the majority of Radiohead's discography (other than Pablo Honey, strangely?), mostly because of the association the band has with pretentious mansplaining pricks. However, I've overcome my stubbornness as I've matured and I can say that this album is actually something I enjoy. It's definitely something I would've enjoyed more in my depressive stoner era, but I appreciate the whole atmosphere. Standout songs for me: - Subterranean Homesick Alien - Let Down - The Tourist Don't think I'll relisten to most of it anytime soon because the album is too relevant to modern society and it'll only make me sad. Great album though!

Queen II by Queen
Nov 10 2025

classic; no words

Devil Without A Cause by Kid Rock
Nov 13 2025

Walmart Limp Bizkit. I'd give it more like 1.5 tbh because I'm definitely not a fan (been avoiding listening to this album for weeks since it came up), but I have heard worse. An hour of my life I will never get back unfortunately </3

Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Nov 20 2025

I understand the polarizing responses to this album, however, I lie somewhere in between. I can appreciate the influence this had shaping avant-garde/experimental music and I applaud Beefheart's originality. There weren't any tracks I would relisten to on their own, but I do think that one day when I'm smoking up I will give the album another go because it intrigues me. Until then, I will stick to the Mothers and Zappa :p

I could see myself listening to this if it was snowy outside and baking cookies with the love of my life. But it's not winter and I'm not in love, so I guess this album wasn't meant to find me yet. I do appreciate this album and Ray Charles' gorgeous voice, but as of now, I do not see myself returning to this anytime soon.

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Mar 08 2026

It feels unfair for me to give this album a rating considering I mostly listen to western music (trying to expand my horizons...) so I don't know how to compare this to other African music. I did enjoy the album though and the energy it brought! :)

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Mar 18 2026

Listening to this is making me realize how much I've been sleeping on Kanye. Chose to avoid him out of spite for him (and his fans) but I'm regretting it now. This album is such a banger even though it's not the usual type of music I listen to. The way he raps is just so satisfying to the ear.

S&M by Metallica
Mar 19 2026

Never been a Metallica fan, so this album was just kinda boring (especially since it goes on for two hours…). I don’t think it’s bad and I’m sure this is epic for their fans, just not my thing :)

Cupid & Psyche 85 by Scritti Politti
Mar 22 2026

Idk it's fine I guess. Bro sounds like Michael Jackson.

With The Beatles by Beatles
Mar 23 2026

As a kid who grew up with a music nerd father, the Beatles were one of the select artists I had downloaded on my iPod Nano. One summer at the park there was a face painting stand and for my turn, I asked for John Lennon glasses. To my 6-year-old self's dismay, the teenage volunteer awkwardly asked my parents who that was. Reflecting on the Beatles now, I don't think I have listened to one of their albums front to back (despite knowing a large chunk of their discography), so maybe I was a poser. I enjoyed listening to this album, however I can recall tracks from other albums I have enjoyed more (understandable, as this is still early Beatles). Can't wait to thoroughly explore the rest of their releases! Thank you papa for raising me to have slightly pretentious but good taste!

Pelican West by Haircut 100
Apr 03 2026

honestly i liked it more than i thought i would! i don’t have anything against new wave but sometimes it can get a little repetitive imo. but this pleasantly surprised me!

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Apr 04 2026

I recognized a few songs off the album, but never heard of the guys before this so it's nice to put a name to the music. Definitely get the 'American Beatle' title and this it is well deserved (especially considering the Beatles' praise for him). Very cool, Schmilsson!

Music From The Penguin Cafe by Penguin Cafe Orchestra
