Lotta canceled dudes in the last week or two… I loved this record when it came out and thought it was an over-long on purpose tribute to the dueling suburban feelings of angst and ennui. Now I realize that neither Half Light nor Sprawl needed their first parts and a heavy re-sequencing would have done some good.

Gotta be Tad Kubler’s favorite Zep record. Side two is probably my favorite three in a row set of theirs, but you can tell on disc two how many old outtakes they wanted to shoehorn in to justify it as a double album. Side note: the first five songs make it clear that Zeppelin are so much better when they don’t fuck with druids

One time I saw them at barricade at Riot Fest in front of J without earplugs. It was the second loudest show of my life behind the time I saw them at barricade at First Avenue in front of J without earplugs. I prefer the sludge on the prior record but this also slaps.

Fun fact: their version of “Queen Jane” was so ubiquitous on adult alternative radio in my childhood that my first time hearing the OG Velvet Underground song left me feeling concussed. Anyway, you can play this at a minimum volume on loop for my entire life and I’d find it pleasant, but when actually focusing on it I find it mid.
