The Libertines by The Libertines

Too much like the Clash which I like more.

Boston by Boston
Jan 01 2026

I liked half of the album, but that half was fantastic. The guitars and harmonies do it for me, and “More Than a Feelings” never gets old.

25 by Adele
Jan 02 2026

The high production value stands out but I think that’s what turned me off. I prefer her first album, where’s she raw and a bit rough around the edges.

Jan 03 2026

An enjoyable album that’s too long. It slows down toward the end. Could’ve been a near masterpiece if condensed down to one disc. No matter; he’s a hit machine, especially during this era.

Tommy by The Who
Jan 04 2026

This was hard to plow through. There were just a couple of good songs buried in there, but it’s mostly painful to listen to.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jan 05 2026

Probably my second favorite album of the three masterpieces MJ created with Quincy. This is a perfect album, and Lady in My Life should’ve been released as a single.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Jan 06 2026

Some hypnotic, dreamy retro soul. Some moments hit, but just as many wash over me with little sticking.

Greetings From L.A. by Tim Buckley
Jan 08 2026

The gutbucket, Louisiana style blues attracted me, his voice kept me interested.

Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian
Jan 09 2026

A little too twee for me.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Jan 13 2026

Killer album from the group’s best decade.

At Budokan by Cheap Trick
Jan 14 2026

Give me the hits, please. I liked little else.

Private Dancer by Tina Turner
Jan 16 2026

Her voice, all grit and gumption in all the best ways, overcomes the dated production and reliance on so-so covers.

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Jan 17 2026

Ah, good high school memories with this one. The hits alone make it a keeper.

This Is Fats Domino by Fats Domino
Jan 18 2026

I couldn’t find this specific album but this came from the same timeframe. The roots of rock n roll! Good, but a bit of repetition across the tracks, but still fun to hear the origins of what was to come.

Will The Circle Be Unbroken by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Jan 19 2026

Liked it more than I expected. It was either the stories, the singing, or the instrumentation, and for a few songs it was all three.

Violator by Depeche Mode
Jan 20 2026

Beats that hold up with worthy stories. Solid.

Jan 21 2026

Well, he’s consistent in his murderous ways, singing multiple times about killing his woman including shooting her in the head. Things lighten up later in the album but I missed the killing.

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
Jan 22 2026

I’m not sure what I expected but it wasn’t this. A bit dated but some good songs.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Jan 24 2026

One delish of an album, with one funky track after another. The music alone forces you to move, but it’s so good I wish I spoke the language too. One of Vinyl Me Please’s home run releases.

Butterfly by Mariah Carey
Jan 27 2026

Beautiful voice, just okay group of songs.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Jan 28 2026

Loved the gritty, sexy spin on bubblegum psychedelic pop.

John Prine by John Prine
Jan 29 2026

Great storytelling.

Gris Gris by Dr. John
Jan 30 2026

Hard one to get through.

The Libertines by The Libertines
Feb 01 2026

Too much like the Clash which I like more.

Dummy by Portishead
Feb 15 2026

Good, but I don’t hear the greatness often attributed to it.

Feb 16 2026

One of the best opening sides; drags a bit in the second half.

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Feb 23 2026
Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades

Low by David Bowie
