Adele undoubtedly has a strong voice that has effortlessly captivated the world, but I found myself rather unmoved by most of the album. The belting style of singing isn't necessarily my cup of tea, and after having heard many of the overplayed tracks from this album throughout my life, I really tried to enjoy this album. I was only somewhat successful. Regardless, "Lovesong" and "I'll Be Waiting" were standout songs for me personally.
A theatrical live album that I had never listened to before in full, as I am usually not exceptionally excited about this style of music. It was an intense experience, and I certainly wouldn't be able to listen to S&M in its entirety in one sitting, but it is clearly a masterpiece in its own right. The orchestral accompaniment was an interesting and rather stunning choice.
Jazzy, smart, and smooth as butter. This album just flowed from track to track. Admittedly, despite being a fan of hip hop, I was only familiar with a few of their songs, but listening to this album in full introduced me to some gems that I will be playing over and over moving forward. What a cool experience!
It's hard not to be taken by an album that sounds like the artists are having a blast being in their element. I was familiar with some of Santana's stuff thanks to my dad's introduction, and it was fun discovering more of his work. It's a beautifully chaotic jam that had me shifting between bopping along and simply admiring the talent and enthusiasm.
As a kid born in the 90s and raised in a household filled with a variety of genres of music, this album sounds super nostalgic. My brain feels scattered and tickled in just the right, most relaxing way.
Full of energy and super lively, I quite enjoyed this album. Some tracks, like Remember Tomorrow and Strange World, were more up my alley, but I didn't feel the urge to skip the others because of how fun they all were. I probably should listen to this again when I don't have a headache, though.
Intimate, soothing, and tender, Norah Jones has a voice that is full of soul and raw honesty. I was only familiar with the title song before this, but what a sweet treat this album is. Cold Cold Heart and I've Got To See You Again are my personal highlights.
This album seems to be intentionally quite noisy and erratic, but is an overall fun and layered listening experience. The fusion of genres and interesting vocal choices tickled me and absolutely transported me. I understand that it's not for everyone, but I personally got a kick out of Cut.
I really enjoyed this album. I did some research on Morrissey and discovered how truly awful his actions and beliefs have been throughout the years. Now, I hate that I loved this album.
It's raw and heartfelt, and I'm glad that this particular album was my first proper introduction to the beauty that is Johnny Cash's voice and storytelling. I absolutely adored the included talking between songs and the cheering from within the prison. What an absolute gem!
Quite repetitive - sometimes it worked and was pleasant listening, and with some tracks, I found myself wanting them to just end already. It didn't feel as groundbreaking or inspiring as many of the other albums on this list. I could, however, see myself getting busy or creative with this playing in the background, so I didn't hate it.
Ambient music that makes me feel pretty relaxed, I guess. Some of the tracks were interesting, and I really tried to enjoy this as much as so many other people have, but it didn't move me much.
An impactful, legendary classic of an album that truly deserves its flowers. Just about every song had the capacity to be a massive hit. His mellow songs are just as good as the more upbeat dance tracks.
It took me a short moment to start truly appreciating his voice and tone, but overall, this album is 100% worth a listen. It's raw and emotional, and I thoroughly enjoyed many of the songs.
I think I may have been too sober during my listen to fully appreciate the creativity and artistry that went into making this album. "No More Runnin" was great, though!
k.d. lang has an undeniably sweet yet strong voice, and listening to it can be quite soothing. I just struggled a fair bit to get through what felt like a very karaoke album.
This was truly a drag to get through. I found myself wishing most of the songs would come to an end as quickly as possible. There are a few tracks that I didn't feel the need to skip, but they felt like a breath of fresh air from the other dismal, confusing songs. Certainly not for me.
Some of the songs from this album have definitely been overplayed, but I didn't hate the ones I hadn't really heard yet. Bon Jovi's voice can get a bit much after a while, but there's a time and place for this album, I suppose. Karaoke bars, mostly.
It's cosy and crackly, and Sarah has an undeniably brilliant voice for jazz. Despite not being the biggest fan of this style of music, it was definitely an experience that I don't regret having.
A classic rock album that's easy to listen to. I am a sucker for a good harmony, though. I'm sure my dad would appreciate some of these songs.
I wasn't expecting to enjoy this, but these covers are pure magic. Calm, sweet, and full of heart. I kinda love Willie Nelson now.
Funky, layered, and so much fun! I had never even heard of Funkadelic before today, but I'm glad to have discovered them.
A classic, fun album jam-packed with hit after hit. There's always a reason to smile and sing along when ABBA is playing.
A chaotic classic 90s album with so many memories attached. The lyrics sometimes leave a little something to be desired, but overall, the vibes are good! Under the Bridge will always get me singing along, so an extra star just for that song.
Incredible voices all-round! I was a bit tentative going into this album, but I was pretty impressed by how sweetly their voices complemented each other.
I know that the singing and broodiness may not be for everyone, but I actually really loved this album! Into My Arms is probably the most perfect, most beautiful beginning of an album in recent memory.
Pretty dull and dreary, and this album feels like it goes on forever. Wild Flowers wasn't awful, though.
